Jaune was not quite as ready as he would have liked to have been when seven finally came around. He ended up having a team meeting with the rest of JNPR regarding the proper weapon usage in the dorm room (“-By which I mean that we don’t use them at all! Even if there are big hairy spiders around!”, he had said, looking pointedly at a blushing Nora) when their table ended up getting utterly smashed to pieces. On top of that he had ended up helping Velvet carry some books to her room not long afterwards and very modestly assisting Coco with two sets of swimwear she had been trying to choose between. So yeah, there hadn’t been much time for him in the way of preparation.

In the end, all he ended up doing was taking off his armor, stowing his weapon, and changing into a yellow hoodie really - a fact that made him all the more glad that this outing with Yang wasn’t anything special. Because if it had been he probably would have given serious consideration to bailing out on her. Which obviously would not have been a very cool move.

But anwyay, the aspiring hero shows up just a minute late, slightly short on breath having jogged part of the way there. Once he closed the distance between himself and Yang he smiles apologetically and starts combing through his windswept hair with his fingers. “Hey! Ahaha, sorry if you were waiting long at all. Some stuff happned and I had a bit of a time getting out here.”

☯- The young blonde shrugged it off with an easy smile. It wasn’t like she had been waiting for ages, anyway. She slid an arm around his shoulders in greeting as she spoke.

“No big, Jaune. I only just got here.”

☯- She motioned over to her bike, swinging a leg over it before looking back to Jaune.

“Hop on.”

☯- Yang grinned, This was going to be so much fun. It had been ages since she had taken  friend out on the town. The last time hadn’t ended so well. But today would end better. She’d make sure of that. She really liked having Jaune as a friend. And she was going to make damn sure he stayed that way.

“I-It’s nothing, I’m okay.”

“Uh-uh, Baby sister. No way.”

☯- Yang quickly put an arm around her sister’s shoulders,pulling her along.

“That line might work on Uncle Qrow or Dad, but it’s not gonna work on me.”

☯- She wandered down the hall, pulling her sister along with her, heading in the vague direction of the kitchen.

“Now, you are going to sit in the kitchen with me and tell me what’s up while I make Mom’s special cookies to help you feel better. Sound like a plan?”

☯- Tears. The one thing she couldn’t stand about herself. Well. One of many. She curled in on herself, breath stuttering through lips that she was determined to stop from quivering. Arms reached up, fingers digging in to the back of her head, tugging at her hair in an effort to hide her pain away from Jaune.

☯- She hadn’t meant for this. She didn’t want him to see her like this. She didn’t want anyone to see her like this. She hated this. She choked on her tears as she tried again to quell her fear.

“J-just...go. I’ll catch up.”

☯- Please. She didn’t want anyone else getting suspicious and looking for the pair.
