I wanna stop living through unprecedented times. I know someone who's old pet videos have just been lost, maybe forever, to tiktok shutting down. Even worse, they're turning this into a political stunt where the message released by TikTok is praising Trump. He was the one who wanted to ban this in the first place and made a problem that only he could fix. Restriction the free flow of information is the first thing that a government will do that's trying to become oppressive.

I know I stopped posting about this but it's all finished other than the padding. I'm kinda bummed about the paint job it's really inconsistent at best but whatever. Also the visor is funny but that's just something I have to try to find a better way to do.

Also this time I don't have to censor my face.

My filament finally arrived this morning. This is the first of three print sessions for my mando helmet. Took 6 hours and while it could use some wood filler here and some sandpaper there I'm more than pleased with it. I expected it to look a lot worse. The main problem was that I printed it off of a free, and not super high quality, stl (not that there's anything wrong with that) and I couldn't fix it up because of my dumb old MacBook. Now for the ears!

I need to add how fucking happy I am that he wasn't randomly force sensitive!
ANYWAYS WIM GOT HIS JEDI/LIGHTSABER MOMENT NOT BECAUSE OF SOME LAST MINUTE FORCE SENSITIVE BULLSHIT REVEAL BUT BECAUSE HE’S A GENUINELY GOOD AND COMPASSIONATE PERSON WHO WANTS TO PROTECT OTHERS AND THAT MAKES HIM MORE OF A JEDI THEN JOD WILL EVER BE I KNOW THAT’S RIGHT

JUDE LAW CAME UP WITH THE SHANTY!!!!!!! SLAY KING!
HOWARD: “Tak Rennod soared, away, away…” It was just supposed to be a poem, and Jude came in and he was like, “What do you think if I sang it? If it was a shanty? Because that's kind of what pirates do, and that's how the lore carries on.” We were like, “Yes, please. We would like that very much, Jude Law.” [Laughs]

They took a Star Wars droid and pirated him up perfectly. He’s missing an eye. He’s got a little animal buddy who rides around on him/in him. He’s got a pegleg and walks with a limp because of it. He’s 100% ready to throw hands at any moment. He’s the ship’s first mate and helmsman. He’s voiced by Nick Frost. His name is basically five degrees shy from being Mr. Smee.
Perfect. No notes.

WOAHH THIS NEW EPISODE
Oh my god first reaction that's some of the best acting and most original trilogy feeling editing we've seen from Disney's Star Wars EASILY. It also totally subverted my expectations for Captain Rennod's character and original plan and it was beautiful.
Spoilers here on
I thought that the cheesy Star Wars screen wipe after one of the scariest non-Vader scenes in Star Wars was a CLASSIC and that Jude Law's performance when threatening the children's parents was phenomenal. Speaking of his performance I almost lost it at his acting when he first saw the vault it was truly amazing. And oh the cliffhanger was so good too. Furthermore the kids acted well in the scene with the holographic parents and I almost cried. It was simply a good episode and it went by far too fast I just cannot wait another week to see the next.

It's primed, the ears and back vent still aren't actually stuck on yet because I'm still working on priming it well. I'm learning a lot about priming and how to do it properly. Nobody ever taught me how to spray paint properly and I didn't know you want many thin layers as opposed to a few thick layers. Now that I think about it that's probably common sense but I'm lazy and impatient. I have to buy a new can of spray paint but it'll probably be ready for actually painting it at the end of the day tomorrow at which point I can have all of the painting and sealing and everything done by the end of the day Monday. Then I can work on padding and then the visor.

And after 20 hours I have it printed and the ears sanded and smoothed with wood filler.

I'm an idiot. Don't touch anything about your printer while it's going. Should be common sense. Idk why I can't get that through my head.
