I think the success the P21 graduates have had recently (in terms of schools they are at) currently make P21 the “best” to go to in terms of BFAs but I can see that changing this year with Cory & Troy being at westside esp since the couch twins said how much they helped them with there applications this year, also ig osca had a lot to do with the recent senior graduates too so we’ll have to see!

i feel like westside is still stronger than p21 when it comes to prepping you for a bfa, but def true that ocsa plays a huge role in it too. makes it even harder to judge the merit of studios in that area when most their students are getting half of their training from ocsa!

Where do u thinks got the best training programme in the OC area? Project 21, Mather, westside, evoke,OCPAA, studio X or pave?

Depends what you're looking for, there's so many facets to training I think it's really hard to pick one that's "the best" overall. I think westside is the best if you want to pursue a bfa in dance or work in a company. However, they've had inconsistent training ever since Jessie left, as they struggle to retain artistic directors. Mather has a ton of kids working in the industry, and while I don't think their mini/jr training is the best you can't deny the produce really strong and well-rounded dancers by the time they're seniors. I think p21 teaches a level of precision, clarity, and articulation that is really lacking in the dance world today, and their alumni have success in the concert and commercial streams - but similar to westside, their training has been inconsistent across the years due to their faculty retention problem. The others you named certainly have their strengths as well but wouldn't really be on my radar for best overall training in the area. I think evoke is really strong in contemp but I don't follow them super close so I feel like I don't know enough about that studio to really comment on it.

evoke anons are all ECK who left evoke for pave..... imagine thinking pave has better training then evoke.

sure pave has it's strengths but imo there's no comparison, evoke is gonna come out on top every. damn. time.

Same!! I have always felt this way! I think it's an issue most of us wouldn't care about if society didn't spend so much time convincing us it's "controversial".

My time and energy are precious resources, why would I choose to expend them on thinking and talking about other peoples' (especially complete strangers) sexual preferences? It's just not my business, and frankly, it's not that interesting to me.

Evoke has always had their issues.

Biggest is they don’t ‘train’.

Looking at their faculty I really highly doubt that's the case.

I just saw Emma Mather’s tiktok and wow, the victim mentality is crazyy!!! She talks about a bible passage and says that christians are misunderstood, are the minority, and that people are going to judge them because they know the “truth”. First of all, what!? Second, you are the largest religion in the whole country, you are not the minority, quite the opposite. You have made it your goal to turn everyone who steps foot into that studio to convert them into a belief system in order for them to be accepted or included. You have no respect for other religions or atheists. I can imagine that anyone who doesn’t have a religion or system of beliefs is pushed and persuaded to believe in christianity just so they can have a sense of belonging in the studio.

Also, people are talking about you because the continuous statements that you have made through your social media accounts are racist, xenophobic, and disrespectful to anyone who thinks different than you. You use bible verses to support and justify your behavior. In conclusion, you think you are better than everyone and have savior complex.

You can claim to be filled with the "love of god" all you want, but when you hold beliefs that are inherently anti-love and anti-empathy, I don't understand how it could logically be possible to hold those beliefs from a place of love.

A huge reason I could never be religious is because of my ability to feel empathy and compassion, as well as to think critically. I could never just blindly accept a belief because a book or a preacher tells me I need to. If that belief doesn't sit right in my heart, I can't force myself to build my worldview around it. Why do you think religion teaches you to doubt your own internal compass, not to trust your emotions? Fundamentalist sects of abrahamic religions will even try to teach you that your personal morals and your emotions are the devil! It's all designed to make you submissive, dependent, and self-doubting. Because if you start to think about it too hard, or you start reflecting on your personal, internal sense of justice, it all falls apart.

I know I always use it as an example, but the belief that homosexuality is sinful. You need to either be deficit in empathy, or be choosing to actively suppress your empathy, in order for that belief to sit well in your heart. Just think about what a better, more peaceful, more loving, more harmonious, more compassionate place the world would be if no one held that disgusting belief.
