So on my first playthrough I was half-convinced Bronco was the one who orchestrated everything and faked his death with a body double (lmao).

Is mastermind Bronco AU a thing... the knight protecting his king/queen by ✨️ checkmating ✨️ everyone who ever wronged Simeon...

We also know he was terrified of his father as a kid. What if he was forced to learn how to mask but never managed to live up to the expectations of what a "normal", "good" son should be according to his father. What if Bronco was a gifted kid, but a "weird" one that an abusive parent can't easily use to elevate themselves.

And now, even if he repressed a lot of his trauma, Bronco's just done with that shit. He's loud, he's unapologetic, he's finally *himself*, however flawed he may be.

Constantly twirls his gun when holding it, which reads as stimming to me. Is so obsessed with chess that he constantly makes references to it in casual conversations, mimes moving a chess piece when he's thinking, and even keeps rambling about it when he's being interrogated by the warden of the prison he's in - reads as his special interest.

Manosouta Week 2025

Welcome to Manosouta Week 2025! We’re hosting a week-long event to celebrate the relationship between Bronco Knight and Simeon Saint (or Horace Knightley and Simon Keyes, if you prefer the fan translation names). The event will run from February 8 to February 14 and include daily prompts to choose from. We accept late submissions, so don’t worry if you don’t finish your work exactly on time.

The rules and prompts are listed below. Feel free to contact us if you have questions about the event!

RULES

The focus of all submitted works should be the relationship between Bronco Knight and Simeon Saint, whether it's romantic, one-sided, friendship, or something else.

Including side pairings and characters is okay, but the focus should remain on manosouta.

All types of fanworks are welcome, such as fanfic, fanart, meta, playlists, videos, etc.

All submissions must be SFW (safe for work). Some level of violence and suggestive themes is fine, but nothing explicit.

Both official translation names and fan translation names are welcome!

Please tag your work #manosoutaweek2025 if you want the account to promote your submissions. You can also tag the @manosoutaweek account. For AO3 users, there is a collection.

We don’t want to restrict headcanons to any specific prompt. That means that even though we have no prompts for trans headcanons, gender swap, mental health headcanons, etc., you’re welcome to include them in all the works you create and portray the characters the way you prefer.

Please tag your work and use content warnings if your work contains elements that might upset people, such as major character death.

You may interpret the prompts in any way you want and make your works as fluffy or tragic as you prefer.

You may participate on however many days you want and post multiple works a day if several of the prompts inspire you. Multiple works for the same prompt are fine. You may freely remix and combine prompts.

Late submissions are accepted, but this blog may not be able to promote new works in a timely fashion after February.

My partner and I finally started our playthrough of AAI2 (my second, their first). I called dibs on doing Bronco's voice and it's crazy to me how much I love this guy after dismissing him as 'chess and gun guy i guess' on my first run. The way the game recontextualizes itself and its characters after every episode, but especially after the finale...I can't stop thinking about it.

Also oh my God I forgot what Bronco's objection sounded like and I'm?? Going crazy over how it's a perfect counterpart to Simeon's. Something about the intonation and cockiness in the face of their crumbling plans being very similar. Makes me yearn for a timeline where they're both insane together.

It's so wild that early on, they were planning for Simeon to be another von Karma kid... So true, king, you were always meant to tie into the timeline big time.

Glad we got the funny circus man though. Not only is his final visual design conceptually interesting and cohesive, but I also love that instead of being told about the big bad's power and how untouchable they are, it's just Some Guy and we see how he manipulates everyone around him. Because he literally does it to the player. Truly one of the characters of all time.

Bought this masterpiece. I don't know if this error is unique to the digital version of the AAI artbook, but having Verity's face pasted where it should be Simeon's circus fit is so funny to me. I don't make the rules, she's now in the circus and also Knight's childhood BFF. 😔 (It very clearly says the correct name, but my late night brain needed a moment to process what I was looking at anyway lmao)

I'm assuming everything I'll have to say about the artbook is extremely old news, please forgive my brainrot outlet......

In order to make it easier for the old to hear and identify, they also wear bells like Anubis, Horace's bell on his neck and Simon's on his wrist； Horace uses a gun and Simon uses the exact same sharp weapon as Dogen
