"Well it couldn't be just a coincidence that the two of us could have had bizarre dreams before arriving in this strange place, hm? Ah, but as I said, I can't really remember the one I had experienced at all... But, if you're not uncomfortable about it, I'd be interested in hearing what your dream was about." Haar paused and smiled at the young man but stared down at the ground pensively at a moment before tilting his head back up. "Of course, it's only probably just a foolish guess that the dreams have a connection, hah... I suppose it could be if you'd choose to interpret the dream in that way." He shrugged his shoulders, followed with a grunt.
The dragon rider had to admit that he was surprised (or was it impressed?) that the young man had been able to identify his armor belonging to the people of his particular skill. Somewhat flustered, he replied, "Er, yes, that's right. So... I'd assume that dragon riders are present in whatever nation you're from?" He was admittedly curious as to just where exactly the young man was from, and so he added, "If it's alright to ask you, just where exactly are you from, boy? If you say you aren't from Tellius, then where? I haven't exactly heard of anything outside of it. Ah, but Tellius isn't a nation; 's more of a continent, actually. I hail from the empire nation of Begnion."
And after Haar had finished explaining where he was from, he had noticed that the young man seemed... increasingly uncomfortable? The man with the eyepatch knew that calling the young man out on his apparent nervousness would have possibly only flustered him more, but Haar did have a blunt side to him that caused him to say certain things regardless of circumstance. With a gesture of his hand, Haar asked the young man, "Er, is something wrong, boy? Ah, perhaps I'm just thinking things, but you're looking pretty nervous like that. Mmmm... But it's probably because you're still uncomfortable in this new environment, yeah?" And then it had suddenly hit Haar like a brick to the face that he had completely forgotten to introduce himself. Bah, I knew it! He exclaimed in his thoughts, hitting the palm of his hand against the the arm of the chair that he relaxed on. A hushing noise followed by a sigh was heard in the library that no-doubt came from the elderly woman who attempted to concentrate on her book, despite the dragon rider not making an effort to really hush his voice. So Haar apologetically looked at the young man and remarked, "Ah, sorry about that... I just remembered that I had forgotten to even introduce myself. I'm Haar, a dragon rider, as you had guessed. Er, well... A former dragon rider, for the most part. I've retired from fighting; I'm just a simple delivery man back home, these days."

"Mmm... Well it was just a guess." Haar remarked in response to Gerik's disagreement. "'Though, I've never quite heard of a phenomenon in the earth that would suddenly transport a group of people to a completely remote location. ...Bah, it's just all too much for this man to grasp." Try and try as Haar did, it was simply too much of a task for him to accurately draw up a real reason as to why he had found himself in the mysterious land. But, he still couldn't help but believe that it was a matter that he felt he should try not to think too much about. Gaining further knowledge of this Ettavia was one thing, but involving himself in paranormal matters wasn't exactly Haar's forte. He was simply a retired military man - turned delivery man, at least, that was what he had hoped to consider himself as. (The armor that he constantly wore sure didn't give people that impression...)
After Gerik stood up from the bench and spoke about finding a job, Haar was surprised to hear that he was quite open to work in a delivery service with Haar. Hah... He sure doesn't mind changing his focus, it seems like. 'Nice to know that not all of those mercenary types just care about showing off their steel and strength to the nearest bandit. Chuckling, Haar smiled and nodded his head to Gerik. "Well, if you really are fine with it, then I have no problem with it, hah. Mmmm... It is a pretty relaxing job, but that doesn't mean it's always easy. Ah, but I'm sure someone wouldn't mind hiring a man of your strength to carry some cargo for them." The dragon rider then chose to stand up as well, flicking off small grains of sand that stuck to his armor from the slight breeze that blew.
He heard of how Gerik had arrived with only his sword, and Haar had to admit that he felt quite fortunate that nearly all of his belongings that he traveled with has safely made it with him. I guess it really was a good thing to keep everything strapped to that dragon... He thought to himself, lightly grinning at his little show of cleverness. But the dragon rider laughed and politely shook his head at Gerik's following words, replying, "Ah, you don't have to worry about that sort of thing. I'm not like those seedy innkeepers that would force a hungry man man to pay just for some bread. ...Plus with all the food I've got, it'd be a good idea to get rid of some before it goes bad." He scratched at his cheek with a finger and nervously laughed, hoping Gerik wouldn't be too taken by that comment. After a moment of silence, Haar cleared his throat, shuffled around in his boots, and said, "Well then, let's get going." And off he walked towards the western exit of the desert town, trying to retrace his steps that he had taken as best he could, signaling to Gerik behind him with a wave of his hand.

I really feel like I'm starting to get too old for these sorts of things... Haar lazily thought, feeling overwhelmed from hearing the thief girl speak from behind him as well as the indistinct shouts and yells coming form the bandits that stood just head on the grassy hill. He waited until the thief girl had fully finished her words, and with a sigh he replied simply with a hand slightly raised in the air, "Look, all I see here is a girl, a thief girl at that, in danger from two, dangerous-looking men. Normally, I don't think anyone would be willing to help you, but I've fought alongside some thieves in my time to know that they can't be all that bad. 'Course, that doesn't mean I still don't have any suspicions about you." He scratched his head and looked off at the thuggish bandits, who had readied themselves into a stance signaling that they wanted to fight. Haar shook his head, mumbling under his breath, "Besides, these men are in my way now, and they're becoming a true pain in the rear..."
Wrapping his free hand back on the reigns of his mount and tightly gripping his axe with the other, the dragon rider let out a deep exhalation of breath. Hah... How long has it been since my blade has actually drawn blood...? Usually the bandits or thieves that would try to stop me in my deliveries would just turn tail the moment I'd take out my axe. But, it looks like things are different now. His breathing continued, but Haar had then suddenly gained his focus, a fierce expression dominating his face and eye. With a sudden tug on his mount's reigns and a swift kick of his boots, the dragon quickly flew towards the two bandits in a flash. In one clean swing of his weapon, Haar slashed at the waist of one of the bandits before tugging on his dragon's reigns once again, causing it to fly back and return to the same location where it was earlier. The man with the eyepatch could actually feel his hand slightly tremble as he glanced at the blade of his axe, dripping the crimson droplets of blood to the grassy slope beneath.
Not a Daydream { Ettavia Open }
Cath fell silent when the man huffed at her. Was he actually angry at her? She couldn’t understand it… At least to her, he looked pretty intimidating, although her first impression seemed to have been proven wrong. Still, with his looks like that, did he really expect her to just assume he was some sort of cleric or anything? People weren’t normally nice to thieves like her - these bandits on the ground were a vivid proof of that. And especially armed people had the tendency to hunt her down… Of course it was a surprise to her that he had decided to help her… or did he, really?
“This girl’s mine now; if you’ve got a problem with that, then I’ll gladly settle it.”
Hearing him talk to the bandits like this, the thief froze stiff. What… Just what in Elimine’s name did he mean by that?! It was too suspicious, and here she thought he was actually helping her, really… Well, at least he didn’t seem to have any intention to hand her over to the bandits, which was good, of course, but what if he decided to really report her to some guards? In her current state, leg wounded like that, she could hardly attempt to escape. Was this the end of line for her? No way, she thought, I’m a master thief. I will not be caught here.
“At the same time, you really shouldn’t stealing things from other people, especially louts like this. Mmmm… But it’s clear that your intentions are at least a bit better than theirs.”
The man had addressed her again, and it was obvious that he didn’t understand her motifs at all. But maybe that was a chance for her. Cath could try and play for sympathy, and hopefully he’d decide against handing her over to some sort of authority. It was worth a shot - and the only option she had, really. In spite of the pain she felt, she tried to calmly explain herself to him.
“You don’t understand”, the thief began, “they were raiding this small village before… Many people died, I… couldn’t really do anything for them. They took all of the village’s crops too… I’m a thief, I won’t deny that but -ngh- I can at least take these lout’s gold and give it back to the people who need it.”
Technically, she wasn’t even lying. Of course, Cath would have kept part of the gold for herself, but only enough to survive. It was part of her pride as a thief to never keep much of her loot for herself. But once she had finished speaking, the bandits on the ground also seemed to have come to a conclusion - and from the looks of it, it was not a favourable one.
Readying their own axes, they began to take battle positions. “You think we’d let you get away, aye? Pfuhuhuhu, how stupid!”, the first bandit declared. “Aye, you’re just one man and a kid, what can you do against the two of us?!”, the second bandit added fizzled a grass patch in front of himself with a fountain of spit, to emphasize his words.
#legendary-master-thief#ah yes they are i'm sorry!#and i'm really sorry this took so long to put out!#trying to cut down on length a little bit too wah...

After hearing Ephraim's comment, Haar looked over his shoulder at the young man with a stern glare of his one eye. "Hey, anytime is a good time for a nap... Even after you've just had some sleep, having some more can't hurt hurt you. It, er... It helps to rest the mind." The dragon rider cleared his throat from the lack of a real argument that he held up on his end, but he had always taken his naps very seriously. Unless someone wanted a good scolding, they had always made sure not to interrupt the captain while he was off in dreamland, even in the battlefield.
And as the pair wandered around the houses, listening for any sounds of a yapping dog, Haar agreed with Ephraim's suggestion and replied, "Hah, that's definitely a very strong possibility. This 'Madame Pompom' did sound as though she had a few screws missing with the way she had written that job posting. I'd you she's always like this whenever her little mutt goes missing..." Haar groaned, and the more he thought about the triviality of the job, the more increasingly irritated he became. But, Gold was Gold, and that was what had mattered to the eye-patched man at that point.
After a short while of walking, Haar's ears picked up the sound of a barking noise coming from a nearby home. Aha! So that pooch really is hiding around somewhere. But... That bark... It doesn't sound quite like I had expected. Mmmm... Weaving through the homes, Haar beckoned towards Ephraim with a hand to follow him. And after enough tracking, the dragon rider found himself standing at the front door of a home, a rather run-down, tattered-looking home... Scattered weeds had surrounded the perimeter of the structure, and the wood that built the house looked so dilapidated that it seemed as though it was ready to collapse at any moment. But there was barking sound again, if one could even call it that. "I... Believe this is the right place?" Haar uttered, shooting a confused glance at Ephraim.

"Oh...? A job for Queen Elincia?" Haar was suddenly quite curious about this job that Gerik had mentioned, but the fact that the mercenary did not go into any further details about it seemed to imply that it was more of a private matter, possibly having to do with the Kingdom of Crimea itself. In other words, it was something Haar did not particularly care about so much... I wonder how things have been going for that young woman... I've heard some rumors about Crimea's political from a few deliveries, but... The condition of Crimea from outside sources gave the impression to Haar that it was slowly collapsing since sometime after Elincia had taken the crown, but the dragon rider knew it wasn't something he exactly had a say in. With a confident nod of his head, Haar remarked, "Hah, I very well know where it is. I've traveled to Crimea and the capital several times while running some deliveries and was on my way there, actually. But I guess this shows how little I know of places outside of Tellius..." His voice had trailed off at the end, and Haar about just how close the continents were and how he had never really heard anything about it at all before. He couldn't help but feel as though he had been ignorant of his surroundings, yet he also felt his eyes had opened to a broader view of the world.
Pondering Gerik's following words about how the two of them had even arrived in the land called Ettavia, Haar gave a shrug at the end of it all. "Mmmm... Who knows...? Hah, I do find it a little hard to believe why anyone would want to transport a mercenary from one location and delivery man from a different location to a completely unknown one, though. Ah, but you've got a good point about a staff being used. I'd always felt an... invigorating, electric feeling whenever someone had had used one of those staves on me. For all I know, it could be the work of a spirit or a god." Pausing for a moment, Haar added, "This 'Esu' that you mentioned... It sure has the name of something like a spirit, don't you think? Maybe researching it could give some good results, though I've never been the one for scholarly pursuits..." Reading a book was one thing for Haar, but taking the time to research a subject was quite a different matter.
It had given Haar a sense of relief to hear that Gerik was willing to work together with him in finding a way to earn some money and find a place to live. The dragon rider was a bit apprehensive in mentioning to Gerik about the mysterious barrier that he had struck when attempting to leave the island and flying out across the sea towards the horizon. He chose to keep that information to himself for the time being, though, believing that it wouldn't prove so relevant until it was definitely confirmed that this barrier had indeed surrounded the entire distance of the strange land. With a warm smile, Haar gave a pat to Gerik's shoulder and replied, "I've got no objection to that at all. It's been a while since I've really traveled with someone, save my partner, but you're definitely right that having two people searching for shelter would make things easier. I've just been spending the night at inns all around this island with the few funds I've got left..." The man with the eyepatch remembered that he was forced to sell some of the cargo that he had meant to deliver back in Tellius since arriving. It had left a very bad taste in his mouth, but the odds of the client receiving his delivery at this point did not seem so likely at all.
When Gerik had also decided to taste one of the fruits and reached a negative verdict on it, Haar couldn't help but laugh at his reaction. "Hah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who dislikes it!" But the dragon rider realized that Gerik did appear to be rather hungry, what with having to forage around the nearby trees and all. He waved his hand casually and offered, "If you're that hungry, we could have a small meal over the food that I've been storing. I've actually got a decent supply of food stocked from having to fly around so much, and I don't mind sharing some with someone who needs it." He gestured a hand out towards the west and added, "I set my partner just outside of this place to rest; he's carrying all of the food with him. We could head over there, if you'd like."

The dragon rider groaned once again as heard the thief's screaming and squealing as the two flew in the air. She looks like she's in pain, but she's sure making no fuss in wanting to scream her voice out... Haar thought, picking at his ear. When the thief girl had asked Haar why he had chosen to help her, he turned his head back at her, a stern and almost angry expression shown on his typically-calm face. "What, do you think I would just leave someone to get herself killed by some thugs? I don't look that mean, do I, kid?" He lightly huffed at the girl before turning his head back to look forward. Leaving someone like that would just put a really bad taste in my mouth... But does she really think I'd just abandon someone in need? Bah, forget about it! The rushing of the air around him helped to dispel Haar's muddled thoughts and focus ahead. And just as the dragon rider's mount neared the top of the slope, the source of the shouting was revealed by the sight of two bandits with blue and red hair.
The bandits took their time talking to Haar while the dragon rider simply sat and listened, not appearing so amused by their speak. "Something tells me that taking good care of this girl involves your hacking her to pieces, am I wrong? This girl's mine now; if you've got a problem with that, then I'll gladly settle it. If you don't want to, then it'd be a good idea if the two of you turn around and head home." He held out his Steel Axe that was still firmly held in his hand towards the men. Of course, they're just simple bandits... 'Though I've gotta admit, I don't think I've ever heard of a thief that steals from other thieves before. Turning his head very slightly, Haar looked at the thief girl from the corner of his eye and studied her for a moment.
That was, of course, until the girl took the chance snap back at the bandits and make her wound feel worse. As tempted as Haar to shout at her, he knew that doing that wouldn't accomplish anything in the end. "If you keep shouting like that, you're only going to exhaust yourself, kid." The eye-patched man sighed. "At the same time, you really shouldn't stealing things from other people, especially louts like this. Mmmm... But it's clear that your intentions are at least a bit better than theirs." Putting aside the fact that the girl was a thief who did deserve what she got, Haar simply saw the situation as it being a child in danger against two, ugly bandits. That wasn't something he could easily ignore, could he?
Not a Daydream { Ettavia Open }
Cath had turned into a shivering picture of misery by the time the man had reached her. What was he going to do, use that axe to give her the finishing stroke or something? She was already squinting her eyes -no need to see that weapon coming, that would just make it more awful- when she registered that the man seemed to have lifted her up and began to make his way to his mount. Was he going to help her? Or maybe he planned to leave her to the guards later on… Well, that would still be better than dealing with these bandits, she supposed.
Confused by everything happening so fast, Cath was a bit too late to notice that they were suddenly flying. Surprised by the abrupt lack of ground beneath them, another frightened scream escaped her and ignoring her initial hesitation, she followed the man’s words to hold on tightly. Although he certainly couldn’t have meant that tightly. Yet, the thief had never in her life experienced something like this before, and she was torn between feeling sick or excited by this new feeling of flying.
“Uhm, t-thank you, but… Why are you helping me?”, Cath asked, once she had gotten used enough to the situation to be able to speak. But before she could inquire further, these darn bandits appeared, blood lust mirroring in their eyes, their axes drawn and pointing towards her.
“Ooooh, do you see that, Jessie? That girl found a friend, aye”, the first bandit exclaimed.

“Ooooh, yes, I see it, James!”, the second bandit replied with indignation.

“Hey man, that girl is a thief, aye! You should not be helping her!”, the bandit called James addressed the man on his mount now. “That’s right, the girl tried to steal from us, aye!”, the bandit called Jessie cooperatively added. “Just leave it to us to deal with her, aye!”, James threw in. “Right, we’ll take good care of her!”, Jessie stated, a grin on his face that disgusted Cath enough to snap out of her silence.
“Tch, at least I don’t kill innocent villagers and take their- ouch!”, she snapped at the bandits, when another fit of pain interrupted her. This wound in her leg was more than just annoying, she realized now. And without help, this would certainly be the end of line for her. “I-I’m sorry to have dragged you into this”, she apologized to the man in front of her, “but I only steal from those who deserve it, and these bandits are the worst!”

Haar looked at the young man's reached-out hand for a moment before giving it a firm shake. He scolded himself in his thoughts for not even bothering to introduce himself until the young man had gone ahead and done so. I know it's not such a huge deal, but still... The man with the eyepatch thought as he pulled back his hand after the shake and gave a nervous smile. "Hah, now that's what I wanted to hear. The name's Haar." He commented followed by an appreciative nod of his head.
But as Ephraim suddenly appeared to become rather timid and nervous, Haar listened to his admittance. The dragon rider had honestly tried his hardest not to chuckle at the young man's naivete. It wasn't as though he was veteran at this sort of thing, either... "Ah, no, it's..." Haar replied as he scratched his head. "Er, to be honest, I'm not quite used to doing odd jobs like this, either. I'm just a simple cargo carrier back at home, so finding someone's pet isn't exactly something I'm so sure of, as well..." With a sigh, Haar's mind wandered to his delivery service back in Tellius and how his most recent client was probably fuming with anger at not receiving their cargo. (Not that they would probably ever receive it, given the circumstances...) But upon glancing at Ephraim, Haar couldn't help but wonder what the young man's reason was for also wanting to do a strange job such as this. He doesn't look like the type of person to do tasks for small cash... Mmmm... Nah, I'd best not think ahead of myself.
With a stretch of his arms and legs, Haar then patted his hands on his lap and stood himself up. "Should we be going now?" Haar offered, turning to Ephraim. "I honestly want to get this over as soon as I can so that I can have nice nap... Yawn..." He pointed over towards a group of houses, adding, "The client's house should be somewhere in that area, since I haven't looked at the homes there yet. I was planning on going to ask her something about the job, but I don't think there's a reason to do that now. Listening for the sounds of the mutt's barking from a neighbor's house would be our best bet at finding this 'culprits'' home."

How old is this Haar that you're playing?
{ Oh to be honest I don't have an actual, exact age for Haar just yet ehehehe... I put it in a headcanon page I recently set up, but I've set him at somewhere between 36-41 years old. On serenesforest there was something on the Fire Emblem website when Path of Radiance was released that said Haar was "in his 30's". And since Radiant Dawn takes place 3 years after Path of Radiance, I took in the possibility that Haar may be in his 40's at that point. If I could just spitball an age for him that's between what I said, I'd say he's probably 38 or 39! }

The dozing dragon rider suddenly snapped out of his daze when someone had suddenly taken a seat in the same bench as him. "Wha...!?" Haar sounded, almost standing up from the surprise. But when he had turned to see that the person seated next to him was just a young man, Ephraim gave a sigh of relief followed by an embarrassed clearing of his throat. Ah, and here I thought I could have had a short nap... He sullenly thought. It appeared that the opportunities for Haar to nap in the new land were nowhere near as prevalent compared to Tellius.
The young man commented on the paper that Haar held in his head, and so Haar perked his head and replied to the young man with a kind smile, "Ah, so you're also doing this little job? Hah, I know it's something that's not exactly exciting, but 2000 Gold isn't such a bad reward for just finding a lost pet, don't you think?" He comment was followed by a soft chuckle, but Haar had soon contemplated whether or not to ask the young man to work together. He would be making less money than he had planned to, but the remaining funds that he still had with him would be able to compensate to some degree. There was an awkward silence in the air, but Haar attempted to break with his offer. "Er..." He began, scratching at his head. "I'm not sure if you would be up for it, but would you like to work on this little job together? A 50/50 split between the two of us; 1000 Gold each. Think about it, yeah?"

Haar had to admit that his absent staring into the distance proved to be very relaxing for him, aside from the fact that he was more than unsettled from arriving in a completely unknown land... Even after just waking up from a sleep that lasted a completely unknown amount of time, Haar was tempted to fall back asleep right then and there. That was, until, he heard the sound of the grass beneath him rustling and his dragon stirring once again and turning its head to look at its side. "Is it an animal, or... Oh!" Haar had also turned his head to peek at the source of the rustling grass, and he was surprised to see that the sound had come from a young girl. With Haar's dragon staring at the girl with its frightening gaze, the girl had let out a fearful scream where the mount followed with a roar. The dragon stirred even more, but the man with the eye patch was quick to react, giving a good kick with the heel of his armored boots onto its skin. "Whoa, calm down, partner! What's with you getting all bothered over a girl?" And just like that, the dragon let out a small growl before calming down, still glaring at the young girl.
Just as Haar was about to speak to the frightened girl who also looked like she needed to relax, she had quickly apologized to the dragon rider to a shout and stated that she was going to leave. "Hey, wait just a minute now!" Haar called to the girl as she stood herself up. Unfortunately, the girl had suddenly fallen back down on the ground, huffing in pain. "Tch, what a foolish girl..." Haar remarked, hopping off of his mount with his Steel Axe in hand. The dragon rider knelt by the frightened girl's side and noticed that her pain appeared to be coming from an injury on her leg. Oh, hell... Haar thought, wondering just how his relaxing time staring off had suddenly transformed into a situation like this. Haar couldn't say he was really the greatest when it came to handling children, but he knew that tending to her injury was the most important thing at the moment. Of course, just as he was about to fetch some bandages, the shouting of two men in the distance began to grow closer and closer. Haar's mount had begun to stir once again, taking its gaze off of the injured girl and looked up a nearby, grassy slope. "Oi, just what the hell did you do, kid? Ah, forget that for now..."
The dragon rider lifted the girl in in his arms who felt as though she weighed practically nothing and carried her to his dragon, placing her on his back before taking a seat as well. Catching a quick glance at sheathed dagger that was at the girl's side, Haar groaned and focused his attention in front of him again. "A thief... Of course..." Then, just as he was about to take off, Haar called to the girl behind him, "If I were you, I'd hold on tightly. I know that you can at least afford to do that much. I don't think I'll be able to fly too quickly with you aboard like this, so it looks like I'll have to take care of these men instead of getting away..." With the handle of his axe tightly gripped in one hand and the reigns to his mount in the other, Haar gave a good tug to the reigns and the dragon's wings had stirred before it jumped into the air and flew, heading towards the slope.
Not a Daydream { Ettavia Open }
Not good, this was not good at all! Who would have guessed that these bandits were so quick to see through her little plot to steal from them? Whatever, now was not the time to contemplate the tiny mistake she had made in her planning - Cath had to get out of here, and fast!
And so she ran, with no sense of orientation, through endless fields of grass, away from these idiots’ hideout. If only there was a forest near-by, she could find a place to hide, but no, no such a thing anywhere around here. Fortune really wasn’t smiling upon her today.
To make matters worse, the thief suddenly realized she had been starting to run uphill - which began to drain her speed and her lungs were getting closer to their limit as well. Maybe it was better to simply fight these louts? No, that would mean her certain death… Distracted by her musing, Cath missed to jump over a large root that broke throw the earth in front of her and -wam!- she fell.
The thief had barely time to even register that the bandits now would certainly catch her with ease. Having reached the top point of the hill, she now found herself rolling downhill, unable to stop or get up. But as abruptly as her quite painful fall had began, just as suddenly it was stopped, as she crashed right into… something.
“Ouch! What the-“, she exclaimed, rubbing the back of her head and looked up, only to find herself face to face with a dangerous looking…being. “Kyaaaa!”, the shout escaped her even before her reflex to crawl backwards set it. This wasn’t even bad luck any more, no, now she was convinced that some kind of evil god was out to get her for the mischief she caused. Frozen by a combination of pain and fear, Cath simply stared at the…thing -was it a wyvern?- when she realized there was a man there, too. And not a particularly friendly looking one at that.
“I-I’m so sorry I-I didn’t mean to crash into your wyvern, really, I’ll just leave!”, she hastily called out to him and jumped to her feet. That plan, however, failed her as well, and she tumbled right back to the ground, huffing from pain. Apparently she had hurt her leg upon her glorious arrival here. Well, this couldn’t possibly get any worse now. Chased by those two idiot bandits on one side, left to the mercy of this stranger on the other. Great. Just great.
#oh of course it's alright!#oh cath you big silly#legendary-master-thief#oh um feel free to play the role of the bandits if you'd like!

"Hey, just a minute now!" Haar called to the girl as she stood herself up. Haar couldn't say he was really the greatest when it came to handling children,

Lost Dog {Haar and Ephraim}
Inside a small pub, Haar read several jobs that were posted on a small bulletin board with crossed arms. These jobs had requests ranging from chopping some wood for one of the townspeople to even "taking care of" a bandit that had stolen a man's prized horse. As the dragon rider scanned for any jobs that involved delivering something, his glazed eye fell upon one particular job. "A lost dog, eh...? It doesn't pay much, but it doesn't sound too difficult to accomplish, either." He contemplated for a moment whether he really should have taken the job. Although the pay was somewhat decent for simply finding a lost pet, Haar was still hesitant if a "mission" like this really was suited for him. Well, it didn't specify the type of person that could accept this, so... With a shrug, the man with the eyepatch removed the paper with an armored hand and exited the pub, giving a kind wave to the bartender who had given him a drink earlier.
"Now let's see here..." He muttered, scratching his head while aimlessly walking and staring at the paper. "The woman didn't exactly specify her address or the neighbor's, so I guess I'll have to ask one of the townspeople if they know her..." For the next hour or so, Haar stopped the occasional townsman and politely asked if they knew a "Madame Pompom". All rolled their eyes at the mentioning of her name but weren't able to provide the location of her house. Heh, it looks like she doesn't have too many friends around here... Haar thought, chuckling at the rather identical reactions that the people had given. But after enough stopping and asking, Haar was able to get the client's address from a woman working in a small flower shop, claiming that she had delivered flowers to Madame Pompom a few times. "Ah, I see... Thank you kindly." The dragon rider gave a smile of thanks to the woman who giggled in return. With the house being described as a "well-sized place in the western part of town with a flower garden in the front", Haar took his time in checking the houses in that area. He slightly wished that he could have observed the houses from below while on his mount, but flying around in the open on the strange island wasn't one of Haar's better ideas when he had neared a small village...
After checking a few houses, Haar decided to take a small break before looking at the few, remaining ones. He took a seat at a bench that had a large tree behind it providing a nice amount of shade. Lazily slouching on the bench, Haar held up the paper to his face and read through it again out of boredom. I can almost take a nap right here if I really want to... The temptation was great, but Haar (somewhat) attempted to keep himself awake.
