“I can’t have an opinion on people I’m not even sure exist, can I?”
He didn’t think so, anyway. He watched some of the butterflies drift by, thinking on that for a short while.
“And what’s all this about him being a delinquent? You picked him for his position in the royal guard yourself!”
“….He is a delinquent. The SHSL Gang Leader to be precise. I would be more surprised if he didn’t lash out in this manner.”
…’Knight of Hearts’. huh? This may help explain as to why she was so reluctant to leave. Hallucinating loved ones as some sort of delusional fantasy figures in order to cope with loneliness, while simultaneously forgetting the actual person it was based on. That would of course, have to be fixed.
“And your opinion towards those currently waiting for you, do you believe they would enjoy your company as well.”

“B-But, why do you want me to go back there? Why can’t I just be happy here?!”
He held his head in his hands, trying to shut out the deafening ringing in his ears and get rid of the stinging tears in his eyes. Why couldn’t this have just been a joke? He’d rather be laughed at by March and Hatter than be told that what was around him wasn’t the real world.

“Oowada the knight? He’s a Knight of Hearts, isn’t he? Why would he do something so silly?”
His shoulders shook a bit when he tried to imagine the best knight in the royal defense force doing something like that. Normally, he saved his recklessness for combat. Or social events.
“I like to think at least a few people enjoy my company here, and I enjoy theirs.”
“False. Oowada is currently in after school detention for riding a supply cart down three flights of stairs. Ishimaru is also present for completely different reasons.”
Or perhaps for more similar reasons than the duo would care to admit. Byakuya would have to be blind not to see that the gang leader had been lashing out more and more in the passing months. Perhaps the time spent in the detention was a moment of solidarity for the two, to mourn over what was lost.
“Besides, what sort of friends could you possibly make here.”

Chihiro tossed a few more tomatoes into his basket before sighing and looking up at the sky. The sun had gone quite a ways since he had started gathering food from his garden. It looked to be a bit into the afternoon now, which meant he could go inside and use some of the vegetables he had picked. He stood up, dusting off his skirt and pulling off the slightly dirty gardening gloves he had been wearing, before making his way to the front of his little house. He paused once he had gotten to the end of the little dirt path at the side of the cottage, noticing someone in front of his home.
“O-Oh, hello!”

“But all my friends are here ...”
He couldn’t ever recall having family either, as he had always lived alone in that tiny cottage. Regardless, he couldn’t disobey the king, so he shuffled along behind him looking as confused as a bird who had encountered a window.
“Because right now you have family and friends who think you’re dead in a ditch somewhere that need to see you, and I have a book report due tomorrow.”
One of these things was probably more important than the other. He gestures for the hacker to following him, before starting to walk back up the road in the direction he came in.

{Chihiro had been on his way home from the market in a cozy little town near his cottage, on his way back with baskets of food in his arms. That was, of course, until someone came running out of the forest and straight into him. The fruits and vegetables went tumbling to the ground, Chihiro somehow managing to keep the little paper bag of bread in his arms as he was knocked down.}
“O-Ow!”

{It was a surprise to see someone wandering around near Chihiro’s usual picnic spot. Especially someone who looked as lost and out of place as they did, seeming to be searching for something in the scattered wildflowers. The blue-clad boy smoothed his apron out of nervous habit and adjusted the woven basket on his arm before approaching cautiously, a quiet question managing to force it’s way past the nervousness in his throat.}
“Are- Are you alright? Did you lose something?”

Gardening (Open)
{ Chihiro was weeding one of the small flower gardens behind his inviting little cottage. He was so glad everyone had pitched in to build him a house, none of them liking the idea of the boy traveling between everyone’s homes. Especially not Rabbit, after what had happened when he had first come to Wonderland.
Halfway through getting all of the unwanted plants out of the lovely groupings of hydrangeas, there was a loud thud. Right in front of him, a person seemed to have fallen from the sky and landed right in the middle of the well-tended rhododendrons. The boy dropped his little trowel in a panic, barely caring as the dirt from it hit his apron, before he tried to pull them off of the beautiful bush.}
“Oh no, get up! Get up! You’re crushing the flowers!”

“Leave? Why would we do that?”

Chihiro had no clue why they would leave, or even where they would go. He wasn’t sure if there were places other than Wonderland, as there were no maps of the land, and surely the queen would be angry if they tried to find one. She might even have their heads.
“Letters can take days or months to be delivered, with a phone you are able to speak to others in conversation as if they were right next to you. modern ones can allow you to receive the news, future weather for the week, and even take photographs.”
“But the fact you can not even recognize this technology settles it then. You have had major brain damage since our previous meeting. We will have to examine that once we leave this place.”
…Once he figured out how they could leave this place. If they just tried going back the way he came…?

{He stayed clinging to the branch for a short while, shaking violently and blinking the tears from his eyes. Once he could see relatively clearly, he slowly climbed down the ladder with the basket of peaches held firmly in his arms, and vowed never to do that again.}

“I j-j-just wanted some p-peaches, b-but my ladder f-f-fell.”
Nanami was roaming through this unfamiliar land, not sure how, or when she got here, luckily her handheld wasn’t out of battery life so she could keep herself entertained, which she was doing as she was walking through this garden, but upon hearing the scream she stopped and turned towards the noise, seeing the ladder and the boy
“Oh.. What happened?” She’d ask as she would grab the ladder and try to steady it under the other, holding it still when she finally gets it

“Isn’t that what letters are for? I don’t know how this would help you communicate with someone.”
{Did he used to have one of those? He didn’t recall such a thing, and as far as he knew he was fairly good at recalling things. Maybe this was a prank . .?}
“I don’t think I’ve ever even seen one of these before, let alone had one.”
“A phone. A cell phone to be precise. Originally meant to allow people to communicate with each other over long distances. Now and days they’re essentially handheld computers.”
He was fairly sure they had telephones in the late period of Victorian times, though he doesn’t quite recall why he suddenly thought of that particular era. As he presses the button on the edge to turn on the screen, he is greeted with the unwelcome sight of absolutely zero bars in the top left corner. Great.
“One has to wonder exactly what happened to yours, considering so many people tried to call you when you went missing.”

{Carefully trying to inch closer, though not getting very far, he reached one of his hands out. Chihiro cried out when his other hand started slipping and got scratched by the tough kin of the tree, but he kept himself from pulling his outstretched hand back.}
Snatching the basket and setting it down, she slipped off her sword and began the climb, testing her footing before reaching out to the boy. “Can you reach my arm? Just try to get to me and you’ll be alright.” She opened her mouth to say more, but quickly closed it, biting back the urge to say ‘Young Master’ at the end.
