Ruby Bridges was the first black child to desegregate the all-white William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis in 1960.
This movie made me cry, I was so heart broken by how Ruby Bridges was treated! She was only 6, but was so strong. She is a very brave girl and she did not care what the white folks called her.
People are simply disgusting to minimize people by skin color!
Ruby you might not think you’re a hero… But to other people you are! You are A HERO and you are A PERSON WHO MADE AMERICA CHANGE!

Why the “Save Martha” joke/meme bothers me personally
Okay, so if you’re on the internet, you know about the “save martha” meme that people post all over the goddamn internet to make fun of the fact that batman had a PTSD attack triggered by just hearing his mom’s name in “Batman V Superman”. It was in middle school. Some boys were laughing at me for some stupid reason and I had my anxiety attack. I yelled “why do you hate me so much!?” and started to cry before running to the bathroom and even throwing up. What’s worse is that for the rest of the school year and even a little into high school, they’d run by me in the halls and yell at me “why do you hate me so much?” and laugh because “LOL! Let’s see if we can make the crazy girl yell and cry again!” some of them even whispered it to me in class. When I see Bruce on screen having an attack similar to mine and people making fun of that scene, I can’t help but be reminded. It wasn’t “cartoonish” that he was triggered by just his mom’s name or that he kept screaming “Why did you say that name!?” over and over again. That’s what a panic/PTSD attack looks like. This is no different than when someone uploaded that video of the old man yelling at that one woman while he was having a PTSD attack and everyone was laughing at him because “LOL! look at him yelling and freaking out!”. It’s not funny. It’s mental illness and going through an attack is horrifying. It may seem funny to you but it sure as hell isn’t to the one having the attack or people who have had attacks similar. If you didn’t like the movie, that’s fine, but Don’t make it an excuse to make an ableist joke.

You know you’re attached to someone when you’ve gotten so used to talking to them on a daily basis and they’ve become a part of your happiness. But when you guys don’t talk, it’s like a part of you is gone and you just start to miss them uncontrollably.

Concept: Cold Topic. The opposite of Hot Topic. You walk in and you don’t immediately feel a thousand goth eyes piercing into you. The music is peaceful and subdued and not destroying your eardrums. Lots of color and pastel shades. You find a ton of cute stuff and the lack of the ow the edge attitude is kinda pleasant. The salesperson offers you complimentary cupcakes. You find yourself in a welcoming atmosphere, but it’s a little too welcoming. Another salesperson appears except they look identical to the first one. You start to feel uncomfortable so you buy your things and head for the door. Then 5 more freakishly identical salespeople appear to obstruct your escape route. They don’t let you leave

i wanna give a shout out to all lgbt people who thought they were another identity before realizing they were something else. lesbians realizing they’re trans men, bi/pan people realizing they’re a lesbian/gay, binary trans people realizing they’re genderfluid, etc. even if you don’t know if your current identity is the final stop, even if you think it’s a “phase”, or you don’t know what label fits you best, you’re on a journey to self discovery, every step matters, it shapes you into the person you are or aspire to be, and you’re not fake or a bad person for figuring things out.
