FACT. Friction = Frizz Keep your hand out of your hair! (That’s a message to me specifically) But if you have to keep touching your hair, here’s the trick - make sure you have some product on your hands. A little moisturising cream or serum on your hands helps reduce the friction as you touch and style your hair. Friction from your pillowcase is also the reason silk is better. I love my natural hair but sometimes it’s ok to take the easy way and pick a hairstyle to suit your lifestyle. Last week I was travelling and I didn’t want to pack a lots of hair stuff so I blowdried my hair with my @dyson_anz Airwrap the night before I left. I knew this style would last for almost a week in my hair and I wouldn’t have to spend any time on it. This is about day 4 and hats are another trick to style your hair quickly. Frizz in your hair is a lot like pores on your face. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We’re told they’re bad and we’re sold products to make them disappear. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But you can’t make them disappear because they’re natural. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We can minimise their appearance, but the products that do this aren’t necessarily the best products to help our skin and hair. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For example, silicone primers and silicone hair serums. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (Don’t get me wrong, I’m pro-silicones but when used with a purpose like heat protection.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So ask yourself, why are you trying to get rid of frizz? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🤔 Do you think frizz detracts from your hair? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🤔 Do you think frizz makes your hair less than? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It doesn’t. DIFFUSER TERM EXPLAINED: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A diffuser is an attachment that goes on the end of your hairdryer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Instead of blowing air straight at your hair, a diffuser slows down the air so it flows gently around your hair. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When drying curly hair, less movement = less frizz so diffusers are a ✨MUST HAVE✨ when blowdrying. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Diffusers come in a range of shapes but usually the dryer you purchase will have a custom diffuser to fit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you don’t have one, you can purchase a universal diffuser which fits most dryers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For travel, sock diffusers and collapsible silicone diffusers will fit most dryers and take up less space in your suitcase. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Diffusers can give more volume to curly hair and helps to create shape in your hair. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You can air dry but I prefer the results when I diffuse, plus I don't have the time to wait for my hair to dry!
