Made of velvet and various other silk fabrics, this Waffenrock is one of the very few surviving 16th century garments of its kind.

The Waffenrock was worn over a suit of armour called the Fugger-Garnitur (named after their owners, the rich Fugger family), most likely during parades or tournaments.

This garment is currently exhibited at the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien/ Hofjagd- und Rüstkammer.
