SO! I am officially a uni student. Wild. I’m also on antidepressants now which is fun. Anyways, being a new student means Freshers Week! …and with that comes Freshers Flu, SO here’s my handy dandy list of things to do to make being ill a less awful of an experience (for both future reference and other people to enjoy):
TAKE MEDICINE. Invest in some good cold and flu tablets, and take them religiously. They help.
DRINK ORANGE JUICE. Keeps vitamin D up and is a refreshing change from water. Speaking of…
DRINK WATER. Between meals, your go to should be water. Hydration helps the illness stay at bay. Also if you have troubles drinking a large glass of water, have multiple small cups instead (or vice versa).
REST YOUR BODY. Your throat hurts? Don’t force yourself to talk. Your feet are aching? Rest them! You’re only gonna feel better once you treat yourself better.
WASH YOUR HANDS. Wash them religiously. Especially with warm water, otherwise you’re just gonna give yourself chills. It stops the spread of germs thus shortening the ‘illness’ period
CHANGE YOUR BEDSHEETS. Once your illness starts to settle down, try and change your bedsheets so you’re not sleeping in your own germs. Keep clean, keep healthy.
FINALLY, SLEEP. Go to bed when you’re tired. Wake up when your body tells you to. This links to point 4, but rest yourself for heavens sake.
And yeah. I will be following this list until I am better but in the meantime I have an art project to get to and emails to send. Maybe also an art account to make, who knows.

So, I’m in a One Piece mood and the possible for OC’s is quite literally endless soooooo boom:
Moon God OC to parallel Nika? Like ‘bringer of peace’ to counter ‘warrior of liberation’
Mama Bear. Just an overpowered woman who sees the straw hats with their parental issues and just goes mama bear mode. Wears a bear hoodie and will throw hands with any marines.
Adding onto the last one, an oc who is super reliant on haki. Like they are not touching a devil fruit with a ten foot pole, but they gotta survive soMEHOW
More sea creature themed oc’s! A selkie whose pissy with humanity, a siren with a bad singing voice etc
Hell throw a water bender into the one piece universe and they would THRIVE
Blood Blood Fruit. An OC who can control blood. But make them super cutesy (looks like a cinnamon role but could kill you vibes)
An OC whose luck is as wild as Buggy’s. Like bad luck majority of the time, but when they’re lucky they’re practically unstoppable. (Maybe make them a gambler too lmao)
Gimme OC’s based off of JTTW, lotus maidens, monkey kings, red son themed etc
Koi Fish. Whether it be in colour palette of theming. Koi Fish.

Okay so ham spam rant time. I’m redecorating my room and attempting to finally unpack my stuff after me and my family moved here 3-4 years ago. Yesterday we painted one of the walls and sorted out my new chest of draws except uh oh! These new draws can’t fit all of my clothes in. So I’m out here stressing and my mum, the godsend of a woman is trying to come up with solution and help calm me down.
Meanwhile you have my mother’s partner shouting at me that me stuff is shit and that’s it’s everywhere and making me feel like I’m not even wanted in my own house which is great.
And now it’s the next day, I’m feeling overwhelmingly defeated. And I have such bad anxiety that I’m gonna be yelled at again to the point where I’m pretty sure I’m going to start screaming.
Is it so much to ask to feel at home in my own house? Like, it’s been years and I haven’t fully unpacked and it makes me feel like I don’t belong here. My room is smaller that my old room, which was already pretty small to begin with and the entire house is littered with problems that make me hate it even more.
I’m overwhelmed, one step away from a mental breakdown, and feeling so defeated right now. I don’t know what to do and how to make my room liveable.

I like how this account has kinda rekindled the urge to be open and semi-cringey with my posts. Today me and my friends (one of which who follows me on here, hi Jam) where hanging out when we decided to look through our old cringey shit. And like, a lot of my old art screams unrestricted internet access. Between the use of ‘Senpai’ as a term of endearment, mlp ocs, Gacha Undertale edits and more I had my work cut out for me. But y’know what? That shit made me into who I am today.
Yeah, it’s hella embarrassing to go through old stuff, especially with friends. One of the bigger talking points I had with my therapist is how I limit my self expression due to fear of social judgement and not being accepted for who I am. So I’m a lot more self conscious about showing my older stuff to anyone, even the people I trust the most. The idea of being see in any kind of negative light is terrifying to me, and I let the opinion of others get to me more than I wish it did.
But that isn’t to say that looking back at old ‘cringey’ art and ideas is bad. There’s nothing wrong with using lingo that was popular at the time because that’s what a trend is, there’s nothing wrong with making low quality art for ‘cringy’ ocs because I was a child. There’s nothing wrong with experimenting with music taste and wanting to share it with other people.
With nostalgia, we look at our past with rose-tinted glasses however with our ‘cringy’ pasts, we typically turn our nose up at our old behaviour in disgust and embarrassment. But our past actions make us who we are, and I think it sucks that we live in a world where we feel we have to be model humans on social media because heaven forbid people judge you for it.
I miss the days where I can just enjoy a franchise and engage in the fandom without a care in the world. I don’t miss the days of unrestricted internet access and being exposed to stuff a kid shouldn’t be seeing in any lifetime but that’s a discussion for another day.
The internet has changed; we’re a lot more aware of cultural sensitivity and online safety. But kids are gonna be kids and deserve the same amount of space as we got, so let them use Gacha, and be edgy, and follow trends. Don’t hate on people or judge them for harmless interests. Mlp infection Au’s have been blowing up recently and it should be a reminder that you’re allowed to like what you want.
If you’re an adult and like kid shows then go ahead. If you’re a kid who likes more mature shows then I caution you to be careful, but with parental supervision go ahead. Enjoy media the way you want to, by writing fanfic, making oc’s, or by just enjoying it. But don’t judge, mock, or make fun of people who are just having fun.

Shows that fumbled the bag imo in no particular order:
OUAT: I loved the earlier seasons a lot, and then frozen happened. And the costuming and writing just went further and further downhill. Also, I didn't like Zelena all that much and as time went on she became more and more important which sucked for me. To this day I still haven't watched Season 7.
Supernatural: I love this show. Despite all of it's flaws I cant help but love it. That being said, my god does it fumble the bag from Season 12 onwards. Gabriel is my favourite character so to bring him back just to kill him off sucked ass. I hated how Crowley sacrificed himself for nothing, and that they sent Cas to the Empty just as Destiel was made canon. It fumbled. Hard.
Gotham: I will die on the hill that Season 2 and 3 were the best seasons. Season 1 had a unique charm that took a while to get into, whilst Season 2 and 3 really embraced the camp that was Gotham. Season 4 was alright, but I wasn't the biggest fan of Jerome. It falls flat with the queerbaiting and bad writing because wtf was that final season?
Primeval: For those who don't know, Primeval is a British show and dinosaurs being misplaced through time thanks to these little portals called anomalies. The writers were ballsy enough to kill off members of the main cast, and even explored the idea of anomalies that went to the future. Unfortunately, the last season gave the new characters little to no depth then what we've seen before and left on a cliff-hanger that never got addressed again because the show was cancelled.
Ninjago: Okay, this one is a weird one because I don't necessarily think it fumbled, but I do have to address the fact that the quality significantly dropped after March of the Oni. I partially blame the movie as it tried to do a soft-reboot halfway through the duration of the series. It still has a relatively popular following thanks to Dragon's Rising so maybe it can recover but I digress...
I might add some more later but these are the main ones that spring to mind, especially the top 3.

Do you wanna know what I want to see more of? Fix-it Fics. I am a slut for fix-it fics y'all have no idea. Sometimes I just want to read something that has a happy ending. But not in the 'flowershop AU' way, the 'this character went back in time to fix canon's mistakes because god dammit they deserve a happy ending' way. I eat that shit up every time and there's not enough of it I swear. Time travel fix it fics are my guilty pleasure that I desire more of, if y'all have any recommendations please let me know I am desperate.

Oh my god so I started therapy up again last week and my therapist? He's so nice? And so chill? I've had counselling before but I don't think I really clicked with my therapists during the first session but this guy is so awesome. Normally, I post angsty shit so this post is me shaking things up because my god am I excited to go back. He asked me to make a list of all the things I really like and actually understands a bit about Pokemon like hello?! Anyway, spam account go brrr, you know the drill, tldr my therapist is cool and I'm hyped to go back-
