I'm just gonna say it. If AI was in any way actually profitable for all these companies, they wouldn't be spending such an insane amount of money marketing the idea of it to us. Every time I use google I get a pop up asking me to use their AI instead of their search engine, every time I use Reddit I get 10 ads telling me how totally awesome Google's AI is, every video I watch on Youtube tries to tell me how bonkers cool Google's AI is, and at the end of the day the best it manages to do is mildly reword Reddit comments and pretend they're statements of fact.
