I've always been too embarrassed to tell anyone why I got into 3d modeling. It was Magical Melody, me and my best friends' favorite harvest moon growing up. I learnt how to 3d model her favorite character and got as far as learning how to import the model before our friendship burst into flames. I still 3d model, and i still play MM but now when ever I see Dan I always say "Sorry!" cause he was the one i was going to replace.

Full confession:

I got a second hand copy of SOS:AWL on a whim. I saw people talking about it on twitter. I did attempt to get the special addition with the stickers and note book but it was outta stock. At the time I fully thought the universe was telling me no. Anyways, I snagged a second hand copy to distract me from pokemon violet whilst waiting for the DLC. Well, AWL ended up pulling me away from the DLC. it took me a week each time to touch either part I’m on my second play through. I didn’t look anything up on the first one. It took me until chapter 5 to give hybrid crops a go. That plant is just soo annoying. And don’t get me started on the 1M bear - I couldn’t get him until the end and just miss all the cut scenes I just marry Mathew each time. It worked out on the first play through. I find the male marriage candidates kinda lacking. I don’t feel massively drawn to any of them. But Mathew is an acceptable choice for me personally Ohh and now I own a copy of HM: DS and DS cute. Got them just for Daryl, he’s my favourite. He can live rent free in my head. I hope he’s ok, it’s always fall in there.

The reddit fandom is rather rude. I am trying to get tips for Rune Factory 3, not sure if what I experiencing was a glitch or not (cant trigger the literal first/second quest) and instantly got a bunch of mean spirited comments and dislikes. I was just trying to get help!

I have always thought that Tale of Two Towns was one of the coolest harvest moon games. Picking your own town and subsequently your play style is a really cool concept. I also like that the main goal was essentially to become the best chef to reunite towns. To get ingredients I needed to be good at fishing and foraging as well as improve my farm to get new resources for recipes. Hand fishing was awesome and so was being about to carry an umbrella in the rain. Not to mention you get a cart that lets you access your storage anywhere. My friend and I use to show off who had the coolest cart to each other. If you haven’t play TOTT do it, you won’t regret it!

I remember being so bummed out by the bachelors when AnWL came out that I figured I would just go for Rock since I thought he was sort of cute. However, I ended up settling for Marlin so I could have an easier time persuading my kid to take over the farm. I didn’t play much after that but now looking back as an adult I LOVE Marlin and his shy personality. I’m a little bummed out by his redesign because now I appreciate his character for who he is and would love to see more Pony/Marlin content! (Also, I can’t ever give Rock a chance because his lack of work ethic is so unattractive and selfish to me.)

My biggest wish for the AWL remake is that we get to expand on the marriage candidates a bit more, especially the bachelors. Sure, we only have so much time each chapter, but I would love to see more characterization ... and, as much as it pains me to say this, the thought of Rock getting something like that makes the younger me of the past get all giddy and I don't know how to react.

I’m playing through RF4S at the moment and I gotta say, Dylan’s has gone from my second least favourite bachelor to probably my second or third favourite. I love his character growth from being rude and standoffish to someone who doesn’t really know how to express his feelings properly. However, Leon is still my absolute least favourite bachelor (I do not like how he constantly teases the MC, he reminds me a lot of my toxic ex). I don’t understand at all why he is so popular. Is it just because Matt Mercer voices him??

Every couple of years I fall back into the Harvest Moon fandom again. I'm nostalgic when I Google search images of bachelors like Luke from ToT/animal parade but get depressed when I realized they're the exact same images from over 10 years ago. Which means there's no new fanart being made for him or I just can't find it. Either way, it's very depressing, and I'm sad because Luke was probably one of my first crushes ever and now that we are in an era where there's a lot of really good digital artists and ways of sharing these images, hardly anyone is going to see them of him.

I might be the only person I know that has headcanoned Mayor Thomas from Harvest Moon 64 to sound like the Mayor of Townsville from “Powerpuff Girls”. I think Tom Kenny would knock that voice out of the park if he voiced the mayor.

Harvest moon GB1 I hate you. I want to like you so bad but you are so awful. Every other game in this franchise I love, even the bad ones! But you are just unforgivable. There is nothing to particularly do and yet what is required is so large. THE TIMER SYSTEM???? The people who worked on you clearly had a death wish. Its making me genuinely worried about GBC2 and GBC3 even tho I've heard they're really good bc honestly wtf man. Its not that I don't even like the farming aspect its just. So clear to me how disconnected all the mechanics are. This could be a whole game design tangent so ill spare your inbox just. Dont play gameboy 1 unless you're RLY nostalgic or you hate yourself. It fails at both parts of the farming SIM genre name that this series created

I hope they remake Tree of Tranquility instead of just Animal Parade because ToT was more fun for me and I preferred the towns layout more.

On a school trip, I decided to tell one of my students about HM: DS (I was playing it on board of the bus; he seemed interested). All was good and well. However, when I heard myself explaining the whole 'yeah the mad scientist has a mermaid in the basement don't worry about it' and 'oh yes there's indeed an evil witch casually living right next to a big mansion and indirecting encouraging me to kill off my farm animals lol so silly' and 'no no it's perfectly normal for the mayor to return my dog ball every day even though I never even bought it in the first place it's like his hobby', I finally started to realize just how completely, shamelessly unhinged the game actually is. By the time I stopped yapping, I swear could see that kids last bits of respect for me evaporating in thin air. Worth it, though.
