Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier, or E.M.M.I.
Metroid Dread (2021) / Mercury Steam
Nintendo Switch
"An Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier—or E.M.M.I.—is a highly agile research robot equipped with the ability to extract DNA. The Galactic Federation dispatched several to the uncharted planet ZDR in order to research the X parasite, a lifeform with mimicking capabilities. But, somehow, the E.M.M.I. on ZDR went dark." - Metroid Dread Report

Draugr
God of War (2018) / SIE Santa Monica Studio
PlayStation 4
"Mother said that Draugr were warriors who died, but their souls were too stubborn and angry to stop fighting. They'd fight off the Valkyrie that came to collect them, and bring their own dead bodies back to life... warping and twisting their previous form into something else. Now they're husks of their former selves, and fight anybody they can find. She also said that they can come back in all different shapes and sizes and that some even have powers that others may not." - In game codex entry

Metroid
Metroid Prime / Retro Studios
Nintendo GameCube
"The dominant species of planet SR388, Metroids can suck the life force out of living things. A Metroid will latch onto its prey and drain energy, growing larger as it does. The only way to shake an attached Metroid is to enter Morph Ball mode and lay a Bomb." - In game logbook entry

Huntsman's Minion
Bloodborne (2015) / FromSoftware
PlayStation 4
"These brutes hit hard and move surprisingly quickly for such large opponents. The brick-carrying Minion is the more common of the two types that you'll encounter and you'll need to pay attention to spot the rare statue type as you approach them, so that you can adjust your tactics accordingly. Both types will walk up to you slowly when they spot you, and once they're a few meters away they'll tend to close the remaining distance with their Shoulder Charge. This attack can be difficult to avoid, because of their size and the range they use it from, so when you see them drop their shoulder and start the attack, it's often better to go for an interrupt rather than evade. At close range, the Brick Minion will often perform a furious Brick Combo attack consisting of multiple swift blows with the bricks they carry. While this attack can provide another interrupt opportunity, it's safer to quickstep behind them - but remember to keep moving around them because they will turn slightly after each hit of the combo." - Bloodborne Collector's Edition Guide

Executioner
Bloodborne (2015) / FromSoftware
PlayStation 4
"These powerful enemies have enormous range and a protective battle stance that drastically reduces the damage they take from the front when they aren't performing an action. Executioners can dish out huge amounts of damage very quickly and knock you down with most of their attacks. If you hang back and try to shoot them, they'll immediately use their Jump Attack to close the distance and hit you while you're stuck in the animation; they'll also sometimes use this attack to strike you on the ground after knocking you down with their Upward Chop. If you stand directly in front of them for too long they'll hit you with a fast Headbutt, or attempt a lethal grab attack." - Bloodborne Collector's Edition Guide

Scourge Beast
Bloodborne (2015) / FromSoftware
PlayStation 4
"Scourge Beasts are fast, aggressive and tough; they attack quickly and often strike several times in a row. They have a weakness to fire, so Molotovs and Fire Paper are very effective, as are serrated weapons such as the Saw Cleaver and the Saw Spear. They also flinch and stumble easily, so transformation attacks can be useful with fast weapons. If you have enough stamina to kill a Scourge Beast in one chain, keep swinging; if not, save enough to quickstep a safe distance away and recover. Visceral attacks are the fastest way to damage them, but their unpredictable attacks make it difficult to interrupt or stagger them. The variants found in Yahar'gul and the Upper Cathedral Ward differ in appearance and elemental weaknesses, but behave in exactly the same way as those encountered in Central Yharnam." - Bloodborne Collector’s Edition Guide

Church Servants
Bloodborne (2015) / FromSoftware
PlayStation 4
"Church Servants can be found throughout the Cathedral Ward, where they aim to defend the church from all those that seek to harm it. Found on their own or in pairs, these enemies can usually be seen moving methodically and with purpose along short patrol routes, often with an end destination that you can follow them to. Church Servants can be interrupted and staggered, and are particularly weak against charged blows from transformed weapons, Transformation attacks aren't very effective at flinching them, though, so you're better off just using normal combos. The most common weapon employed by these enemies is the Cane, which uses a very simple and limited set of attacks (either an overhead spike or a horizontal swing) to great effect. Sometimes they will use a short combo, but the hits are slow enough that you can always escape even if one connects." - Bloodborne Collector’s Edition Guide

Huntsman
Bloodborne (2015) / FromSoftware
PlayStation 4
"A basic enemy encountered throughout Yharnam and the surrounding areas. Huntsmen patrolling the streets of Central Yharnam will travel set routes which you can use to either avoid or ambush them; they also sometimes guard fixed positions. These foes are weak on their own, but almost never appear alone — the greatest danger they present is their ability to swarm you in large numbers if you're not careful. Their close-range torch attacks are especially deadly, because they leave almost no time to react and can hit you several times in a row; on the other hand, their weapon attacks have longer reach, but are much slower and more predictable" - Bloodborne Collector's Edition Guide

Klump
Donkey Kong Country (1994) / Rareware
Super Nintendo Entertainment System
"Klump is quite a character. He's like a big, overweight drill sergeant. He's not fast — how could he be? He waddles along like a duck, blocking every ape in his path. Donkey Kong has no trouble putting Klump out of his misery, but here again, lack of size counts against Diddy as he has to hit Klump twice to off him. If Diddy jumps on Klump's head, Klump will back up and prepare for battle. Diddy can then just do a powerful cartwheel right through him." - Donkey Kong Country Player's Guide

Krusha
Donkey Kong Country (1994) / Rareware
Super Nintendo Entertainment System
"Check out the big guns on this crazy Kremling! Krusha is the big, blue, buff dude. He's also the big, silver, buffer dude! Donkey Kong can take out the Blue Krushas by jumping on them or rolling through them. Unfortunately, Diddy can not do the same. They make a really funny groaning noise when they bite the dust. When it comes to the Silver Krushas, just leave them alone. They're too tough to take out. Jump over them when the coast is clear or toss a barrel at them if you have one handy." - Donkey Kong Country Player's Guide

Kritter
Donkey Kong Country (1994) / Rareware
Super Nintendo Entertainment System
"Kritters come in several colors, but other than that, they basically look the same. You can take them out easily by jumping on their heads or rolling through them and bowling them over. Depending upon their color, they have different jumping abilities and patterns of movement. That's what makes them a little unpredictable. Another member of Kritter family, Krash, is the type that likes to hide out in mine carts." - Donkey Kong Country Player's Guide

Patient Demons
Silent Hill 2 (2001) / Team Silent
Playstation 2
"These enemies resemble patients from a mental institution wrapped in a kind of flesh "straightjacket" that stretches over their heads. Patient Demons have two styles of attack. When they're standing upright staggering toward any light or heat source, Patient Demons will stop at a certain range from their victims. Then their upper portion bends in half and the midsection splits open. The Patient then spits an acid-like substance from this orifice, which damages and momentarily stuns the victim." - Silent Hill 2 Official Strategy Guide

Nurse Demons
Silent Hill 2 (2001) / Team Silent#
PlayStation 2
"Curvaceous denizens of the Hospital, these faceless blood-streaked RNs are anything but healthcare providers. Screaming and twitching rapidly in agony, Nurse Demons attempt to ensure that those condemned to hell are made quite comfortable in their individual pits of despair. Carrying long sticks that they like to drag and beat on the ground, these feminine creatures cause quite a disturbing clatter as they scour the darkness for new patients to rehabilitate." - Silent Hill 2 Official Strategy Guide
