i think it's something you can very consistently notice in the experiences of transfems that regardless of how the identification of oneself as transfem is conceptualized in the moment, when looking back on it you start seeing ways in which you were socially transfeminized before ever even considering the possibility of personally self-identifying, a self identity which can retroactively be understood as a consequence of being transfeminized rather than the cause of it even though it might not have subjectively felt like that at the time. like gender is not an essential identity of the person that causes a particular position in society, but rather the social aspect precedes the personal aspect
