Have a read through Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud, extremely great book talking about the medium of comics, it's long but my god is it good. I think chapter 4 is particularly useful for ppl w/o a lot of comic experience.

Remember that comics are not storyboards for tv/film, they do things way cooler than that (see tip #2) 😎

Read lots of comics!! i consumed manga in my teens at an unholy pace + learnt a lot unconsciously while doing so. (I read a lot less now unfortunately and maybe manage a graphic novel every 6 months)

JUST DO IT, DONT THINK, JUST MAKE COMICS, THEY MIGHT BE BAD OR A LITTLE UNCREATIVE AT FIRST AND THAT'S GREAT BC YOU MADE A COMIC AND YOU ONLY GET BETTER WITH PRACTICE, JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

I accidentally sent my previous ask to someone who commissioned you (oops) so imma retype everything as well as i remember!

Where do you take your inspiration from? Like what other artists have you found yourself emulating to get to where you are now!(if any) your work is really clean and refined and i want to know how i can emulate the loose yet clean art style you have mastered

Your art is really amazing!! I find it hard to put into words what all i like about it, but the way you draw women is so beautiful and so natural in a way that i so rarely see. I wish i could eat your drawings <3

well my biggest influences when in my late teens/early twenties (note: im thirty now) that i can really remember were probably makankidotdot shoomlah Phobs and Chira. I think there's a thread of strong draughtsmanship through those artists that i really loved and wanted to follow and then lucked out in my university course having such a strong focus on life drawing for 2 years that i picked up the skills i wanted.

This ask here also covers another reason why my art is the way it is, tho i'll also mention, i can get bored or impatient pretty quickly with making art so that also forced me to get faster LOL. like once the main point of the drawing is done, (that might be the sketch, the pose, or the lighting i have in mind) its a race to see how much i can stand to draw before im tired of it.

Subject inspiration is pretty personal, some of you may know my wlw art journey kind of mostly started when i made a new years resolution in 2014 to draw more femslash and then just didnt look back. i draw and drew the stuff i do and did bc i just did not see any of it back then, 11 years ago, and now that's changed massively (yay!!) partly im sure that's just because i wasn't in the right bubbles, i could always find wlw fic but wlw and especially older wlw art was hard as fuck to find, also i mean due partly to a lack of centralised system like ao3 but i do also believe wlw art being made and shared is higher than it was 11 years ago. I still just draw what i want to see and i've been elated that it turns out a bunch of other people also want to see that :')
