Chidi from the good place is such a good representation of moral OCD/scrupulosity (as someone w/ moral OCD) - he means so much to me

I feel like at some point I just started believing the intrusive thoughts were my thoughts, or like admitting to myself that they are my real thoughts and then acting according to them. I don’t know if they’re my real thoughts or not

I hope developing OCD remains the worst thing that's ever happened to me for a long time, but also I desperately wish it wasn't the worst thing in the sense that WHY HAS IT RUINED SO MANY THINGS.

as for the 3rd one. just really fucking tired of listening to people say "have some empathy" or some variation. even if it's not directed towards people that struggle with empathy, etc... it's still hurtful and leads to further isolation
‼️just a little reminder abt things ive been a bit pissed abt lately. (feel free to correct me if i say anything out of line! - mainly saying this bc i have OCD and feel like everything i say is wrong, even if ik it's completely correct)‼️
(all of these are random and don't necessarily have anything to do with eachother btw!)
1. being pro-palestine ≠ being anti-semetic (AKA being FOR palestinian liberation ≠ being AGAINST jewish people) - *notice that it is a 'NOT equal to' sign*
2. speaking from a script or plan speech doesn't make the message any less genuine. some people prefer to be prepared, have anxiety, can't remember what they were going to say, and etc.. and need some help to get a message across. and that's okay!
3. some people have no/low empathy, sympathy, and/or compassion. that does not make them bad people. yes, some bad people have no/low empathy, however, that does NOT mean that having no/low empathy, sympathy, and/or compassion makes someone a bad person

OCD culture is having a hard time working on minimizing your compulsions because as soon as you overcome the anxiety that makes you do the compulsion, your brain starts saying that if you don't do the compulsion, you actually never had OCD and you've been faking the disorder for years

Your daily reminder to not put "You SHOULD be reblogging this" in your posts because you're going to trigger somebody's OCD. Especially when it comes to topics such as social justice or politics. Yes, your message is important but guilting people into reblogging it is not just reblog bait, but it can harm somebody mentally.
