ENDINGS ARE JUST THE BEGINNING: EPILOUGE

The first entry of this blog was last September 09, 2023 and today is December 09, 2023. What a whirlwind is has been since then. After bouts of thinking, frustrations, sweat, and efficient team work coming from my other teamates; Kim, Lycah, Julliane, Kent and Lourd, we have finally conducted our Final Pitching last December 05, 2023 and it was such an experience getting here. From figuring out different business prospects that might fit our current location, to identifying target markets and finally establishing a view and brand we want ourselves to delve into and that was where ‘e-Run for Me’ started. We figured that as students ourselves, we shared the same dilemmas in scheduling and organizing our time. From various tasks and chores to be done with on a daily basis it was hardly enough time to finish it all. So, with this in mind ‘e-Run for Me’ was created. An online social media platform service that caters to students and working professionals that seek help in doing their everyday errands and at the same time offering job opportunities to individuals who needed an extra sideline to earn. As a student and someone learning about business research myself, me and my groupmates have conducted various surveys regarding this issue, from students to various business owners. Business establishments located specifically here in Central Mindanao University Market. Many have told us that it would be more convenient if such service was offered, since it would attract more customers to buy from them and also convenient because it would only take one person to be able to order multiple orders, if in instance customers order in groups/bulk. Learning ‘Entrepreneurship’ for one was not an easy feat, but one thing that made this experience fun and attainable was our group of highly courageous individuals that strived everyday to make this project possible and with our ever constantly encouraging adviser Ms. Leanne Aireca Tumaroy. Thank you, Ma’am! We will not forget this experience. You have taught us so much in this course and made us experience a lot of things that we might someday encounter in our everyday lives. Again, my names is Hazel Antoinette D. Torralba, a Sophomore student in Central Mindanao University, am closing this chapter in hopes of beginning something new. Until the next blog dear readers.

STARTING POINT: The Venture Proposal

In coming up with a plan, together with my groupmates each of us shared our struggles what it’s like being a student. Through this discussion, we discovered that one of the main problems we face as students or working individuals is the lack of time. As a student myself, one of the main struggles I face constantly is time. With the amount of school load, I have to do and at the same time errands to run, I simply cannot find enough time to do it all in one day. Realizing this, our group decided that this mainly is a problem we all were equally facing hence we saw an opportunity in this. In finding our problem, we formulated a set of questions to ask students and or working individuals in our community to verify if whether, majority were also facing the same.

In testing this idea, we asked a number of students and individuals whether they too were facing this kind of dilemmas, many of which answered yes. Base on the images attached above, majority answered yes to most of our questions. Which they confirmed that yes, they too were facing such problems like time management, overloading of school activities that they simply cannot find time to do normal mundane things such as doing groceries on the weekends, and or picking up their laundry in the laundromat.

Following with the results of the surveys by various individuals, we have formulated a plan in which can help not just us students but also working busy individuals. Through the struggles of managing our time wisely, “e-RUN FOR ME” was created. This concept does not stray away from delivery services that we have nowadays. Like FoodPanda for example, a customer buys a food through the app from a specific store he/she may want to buy from. IN the “e-RUN FOR ME” concept, a customer has full control on what he/she wants the “errand runner” to do, and not just buying food, but also the “errand runner” can help you buy your groceries for you, and a lot more things that needs to be done. In this “e-RUN FOR ME” business concept, the customer can customize the task that is needed to be done base on what they need at the moment. We formulated this concept, to of which we wanted it to be an application of some sort since mostly of us have smartphones, in which in the end, we decided to instead of doing an application, we started on a much smaller but still applicable and versatile manner, which is through making a social media website which individuals can book there to have their errands run for them. Since in this scale, it is much easier to maneuver since majority of us owns a social media account.

In creating this business opportunity, we took the time to really understand what are the main problems and or constraints we are facing in todays time and most specially the problems our community in CMU are experiencing.  With this business opportunity we are not only helping other individuals in their errands but also individuals who are in need of extra income for their day-to-day needs. This business concept is not new to the market but in our part of town it is one of the things this community may need in order to not just help us manage our time but also help others as well.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Hi there! My name is Hazel Antoinette D. Torralba and I am 20 years old. A Sophomore student in Central Mindanao University, taking up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Currently, I have this subject called the Entrepreneurial Mind. Ever heard of that before? Cause I have, and yet I still have a hard time defining what entrepreneurship really is. Now if we search "what entrepreneurship is?" on the internet. Is would say:

"the activity of setting up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit."

Pretty basic don't you think? It's too vague that we really don't understand what it is. When in fact it isn't just business, financial profits and gains. It's more complex and profound than that. It isn't a one side fits all analogy of some sort. Entrepreneurship creates, motivates, and innovates opportunities, goals and or aspirations in life. It hones individuals to be free and creative thinkers in today's society. It create opportunities that come from nothing shaping it to become newer, better and bigger. You it's not all about money, profits and business. It's taking the leap of faith of something you believe in and working hard for that dream of yours to come true. Entrepreneurship helps us become better individuals. Makes us into a more creative thinkers. And in shaping and making something out of nothing, we create opportunities for other individuals to also follow and take the leap of faith in this big and full of possibilities we call life.

And that is what I understand Entrepreneurship as.
