POST UPDATE! Remember her??? Swipe for more pics and read the story about the “mysterious initials” I acquired this beautiful antique table top writing desk a few years ago while we were in Parksville, BC. It was in a wonderfully jam packed antique shop at Coombs. To be honest the price is why I got it; I knew it was worth way more than they were asking for it and I didn’t hesitate (in fact my mom bought it for me ❤️) It had been well kept, and the interior was like new, especially for its age. Well, as I do with all the antiques I acquire, I researched the date it was made and the history of it. I was delighted to learn that this gem was made approximately around 1886 and made of maple. It has the unique initials of “P. M. M-L” engraved in a brass plate on the top of it. I researched like a mad woman trying to find someone in the world with those initials, to no avail. Secretly I was hoping to locate a famous person!! lol The hyphenated last name was tough to figure out. So like the writer I am, I made one up and put her in my fourth book! So look forward to meeting “Priscilla Maude Myers-Lewis” in Jacob’s Secret! Thank you to everyone who gave name ideas. P.S. I use this antique all the time as you can see in the last pic.
