   when  he  FIRST  started  finding  her  out  here  by  eddie's  headstone,  it  was  pure  luck.  he  hadn't  planned  on  coming  that  first  day,  but  he  felt  guilty  for  not  visiting  him  since  the  service.  they'd  all  pulled  their  savings  to  help  uncle  wayne  pay  for  the  marker.  too  afraid  of  cult  repercussions,  no  vandalism  had  taken  place.  still,  the  guys  started  taking  turns  coming  out  to  check  just  in  case.  maybe  it  was  the  frequency  and  randomness  of  them  showing  up  that  kept  the  mob  away.  whatever  the  reason,  it  was  damn  lucky  mitch  showed  up  that  night.  he  found  her  out  there  all  alone  and  drove  her  home.  chrissy  wasn't  always  at  eddie's  grave  when  he  visited,  but  he  took  to  checking  on  her  as  well  as  guarding  eddie's  final  resting  place.  

    whenever  the  forecast  called  for  rain,  he  showed  up  with  an  umbrella  and  blanket.  whenever  it  was  too  hot,  he  brought  extra  bottles  of  water.  tonight  he  was  late,  and  he  walked  up  to  find  her  sleeping.  mitch  went  about  his  usual  routine  of  cleaning  up  the  dead  blooms  left  by  those  who  actually  cared  about  the  fallen  hero.  he  cleared  the  fallen  leaves  and  plucked  the  overgrown  grass  the  gravedigger's  lawn  mower  couldn't  reach.  then  he  settled  down  beside  her  taking  her  outstretched,  limp  hand  in  his.  he  didn't  want  her  to  get  too  damp  and  chilled  from  the  ground's  dew,  so  mitch  monitored.  

    he  cast  his  empty  gaze  to  the  sky  once  the  stars  came  out  every  now  and  again  and  had  a  silent  conversation  with  his  FRIEND.  "don't  worry,  man.  i'll  watch  her.  everything's  going  to  be  okay..."  he  checked  his  watch  a  quarter  after  midnight  then  gathered  up  the  dozing  cheerleader.  he  couldn't  carry  in  his  arms  with  jostling  her  too  much,  so  he  perched  her  over  his  shoulder  gently  as  he  rose  up  on  his  feet  and  carried  her  back  to  his  truck.  he  pick  the  lock  to  the  back  entrance  and  make  sure  she  was  back  in  her  bed  before  the  first  rays  of  morning  light.  from  his  pocket,  he  pulled  out  one  of  the  last  flowers  from  eddie's  grave  that  wasn't  completely  wilted  and  set  it  on  her  dresser.  then  he'd  drift  back  out  of  the  cunningham  residence  like  a  large  shadow.

   mitch  wore  sunglasses  too  small  for  his  face  that  he'd  found  in  the  back  of  his  little  sister's  closet.  he  was  pretty  sure  they  had  little  daisies  hand  painted  by  his  sister  on  the  corners  of  the  frames,  but  he  made  'em  look  COOL.  metal  daisies,  he'd  convinced  himself  as  they  stood  at  the  entrance  of  the  arcade.  it  was  pretty  much  one  of  the  few  places  in  hawkins  kids  of  all  ages  hung  out  because  there  wasn't  much  else  to  offer  besides  someone's  house.  especially  after  the  mall  was  destroyed.  "mitch  o'connor  is  banned  for  life,"  he  corrected  slowly.  his  hand  extended  in  front  of  his  pronounced  stomach  then  articulated  his  reintroduction  around  his  chest  area.  "i'm  richard  nixonson.  he's  visiting  from  a  couple  towns  over,  taking  in  the  sights.  looking  to  dominate  the  pac  man  scores."  a  malicious  grin  spread  over  his  face  as  he  nodded  his  head  up  and  down.  nonverbally  mitch  signaled  his  friend  to  follow  along  with  his  mastery  of  disguise.

headcanon influence;

this   is   a   big   one.   i   will   be   exploring   the   true   life   culture   of   the   1980s   heavy   metal   scene   and   its   influence   on   society.   actual   trials   took   place   with   bands   as   well   as   civilians   because   the   justice   system   conceived   metal   music   and   its   imagery   had   a   damaging   effect   on   society.   the   influence   it   held   over   the   youth   and   its   link   to   crimes   made   anyone   associated   with   the   subculture   suspect   number   one.   using   these   real   life   cases   mixed   with   the   canon   of   eddie’s   role   in   the   show,   i’d   like   to   build   a   character   profile   that   will   be   biased   to   my   interpretation.   music   will   also   play   heavily   in   my   portrayal   of   eddie   who   canonically   is   a   fan   of   dio,   w.a.s.p.   and   other   such   groups.   expect   breakdowns   and   reflections   on   those   bands   and   their   cultural   influence.   for   spice,   i’d   love   to   incorporate   their   inspiration   into   interactions   and   verses   too.

i   am   willing   to   interact   with   other   eddies   because   at   one   point   in   time,   i   really   did   enjoy   all   the   silly   aus   we   could   get   up   to   such   as   twins,   or   how-did-we-end-up-in-each-others-universes.   however,   i   have   had   a   few   bad   experiences   that   have   made   me   cautious   with   dups.   i   will   not   follow   first,   but   if   other   eddies   follow   then   i   will   consider   interacting.   basically   if   we   can   stick   to   basic   rp   etiquette,   namely   godmodding,   then   i’m   good.   you   have   your   version   and   i   have   mine.   we’re   individually   unique,   and   we   should   explore   that.   i   don’t   want   to   know   what   i’m   doing   wrong   or   feel   uncomfortable   in   the   choices   i   make.   we   might   go   down   the   same   avenue   as   far   as   mannerisms   and   history,   but   ultimately,   we’ll   make   it   our   own.   i’d   rather   not   knit-pick   who   did   it   best   or   how   similar   a   canon   version   is   to   another.   anyways…   that   got   a   little   ranty,   but   basically,   i   love   the   idea   of   dups.   let’s   have   fun   with   it!
