I'm sorry to be /that/ person but I was wondering if it would be doable to join so late into the rp? I'm afraid I might fall behind on what's going on

Hey hi, you're totally okay, I understand it can be quite overwhelming! So if you're afraid to fall behind, we currently have 4 open spots for characters who stumble newly into town so you don't have to worry about keeping up about past events at all! If you do like to have a character (a second character perhaps?) who's been longer in town, we can always fill you in on things that already happened so far (and things that happened in town to those who've been trapped way longer in town). Whichever you choose, you do not have to worry about falling behind, we will happily fill you in both ooc and ic. Hope that helps!

Hello! This might be a silly question, but would something like a solar charger work in town to keep something like a phone or other device alive? It wouldn't be able to connect to the outside world, but would it allow someone to be able to use their phone for other things like a calculator, looking photos in their gallery, taking photos, or enjoying other things that were previously downloaded onto the device before coming here or would it cease to function after a little time?

Hey hi, not a silly question at all! We do think they tend to stop working after a while. Do know there are no existing sockets in town for electrical devices, and batteries also run out eventually! If your character is new in town, they could certainly have a solar charger with them but eventually it'll stop working too. Hope that answers your question!

Hi! Do outlets in Arcadia work? Like, would someone be able to charge a phone or run a hair dryer they had with them? Or is it like in From where the only working appliances and electronics are what was already in town before people get there?

Hey hi, we've taken inspiration about that from the show as well, yes! So any device that needs to be charged with an outlet will eventually run out of battery and die. It's all about not being able to connect with the outside world in any way, but lights mysteriously do work, there are hot showers, a landline can ring every now and then, just like the diner's jukebox turns on every once in a while. People that arrive newly into town with a cell- or smartphone, same with a laptop or any other device that's able to connect to the outside world will have no service or internet. Hope that answers your question!

This might be a dumb question, but can residents come from all over the world or do they have to come from America? Like, can someone be traveling in an entirely other country when they stumble upon the tree?

Hey, that's not a dumb question at all! We have residents coming in from all over the world! There's people from the UK, Europe, Canada, so you're okay to pick any country where your character could be from!

Hi! I was wondering if you could clarify a few things for me about resources in town? Do they eat only what they can grow and hunt? I'm assuming no supplies outside of what people bring in with them are coming in so they would have a limited number of things like medical supplies, etc., right? Also, if someone in town were to have a baby, there would be no formula as an option to feed them, would there? I have a character in mind for here, but I wanted to make sure their backstory is plausible.

Hey hi! Yes, you're absolutely correct! People in town rely on the crops they can grow, what nature provides when it comes to berries, mushrooms, etc, what the animals are able to produce. Same goes for medical supplies, they try to make their own medicine (the settlement excels making meds with (un)wanted side effects included). About your second question, to quote my co-admin JJ, ''babies have been brought up long before formula existed, for example like full fat boiled animal milk is fine.'' To expand on that, we also have a character (Baby Crier) who was born in town and lost her mother/parents right away, she knows nothing else but the town she's grown up in for the last 24 years! We are very curious to see what you're cooking up, and you're always welcome to ask for more help be it anonymously or when you've joined the RP! We're always happy to help, both us admins and members.

Hey hi, any way you see fit really! He could fit as (ex) military, an engineer, a construction worker, or perhaps a doctor, a guard, hunter or scout. Whichever gives you most muse and you think would fit your character most!
