My studio has been a mess for a while. I lost most of my #creative/motivational energy in October🥲 But I would still go to my #studio to sit and move clutter around while thinking about the #bouquets I was going to make. Them images were never super clear in my head but I pushed through and made some pretty good ones, I think😅. After that I had some vacation time left to just relax before going back to work. I rested, went back outside, and now I can’t see my floor🥰 I’m still rearranging my stuff before I start on some paintings I promised to make but I feel lighter now☺️ #artistlife #creativelife

#Christmaspresent #3 Originally for my uncle (but he didn’t show up) so I gave it to my aunt (hers got a bit damaged during transport 😅). Im realizing now I probably need a #gray backdrop for my darker works cause you can not see the #black #ceramicvase at all🥲and the #driedleaves I used are really hard to see in the #shadows. Admittedly, those #leaves are made for #scapbooking not #floralarrangements. This one has actually been done for a while. It’s not one of my#bouquets but was inspired by them🥹 it’s my take on #bonsaizokei (essentially it’s the #craft of making artificial #bonsai). My idea is obviously a bit different but it’s still trying to recreate the skills of bonsai. This one didn’t work out exactly how I wanted. I bought some #flower #presscutters so I could do bulb of #sakura #cherryblossoms but I got frustrated and just repainted a rose 😅 I actually got the idea from looking at framed #zengardens. I still have 2 other ideas for more flower bonsai. Florsai? Whateves😂 My #creativeenergy has just been really low recently. Mainly because of work, but I’m going to push through on these late #Christmaspresents I got going. #4 This one actually gave me a little bit of difficulty. It doesn’t look like it would, does it😅 I wanted to do another #arrangement with a partial #woven base, so I found a #wheel frame from the dollar tree and gave it a try. I think I’ll stick to making my own🙃 There isn’t enough spokes to give me the #weave pattern that I want. I could double it but then I will still have to add another spoke so I have the odd number needed to weave. It’ll take a bit more work but ultimately I’ll like the result better. I definitely have to work on forming the #CallaLilies. The directions I had weren’t the clearest and I was just experimenting with the materials I have. Not bad for a first time. #3 done and dusted!!! This #floralarrangement was a little more complicated than the others. This is the #bouquet that I had to make my own #stems and made #paperleaves. The #leaves came out looking way better with my #woodflowers than I thought they would. I will have to work on the stem making tho. I tried a couple of different ways, some not as successfully as I’d like. Also trying to get the #goldleaf yo stick was such a pain🫠😫😭 it would go great in the beginning and then it was all down hill from there😢 Add to that I could not find #gold #spraypaint anywhere😵‍💫 I had to fill in the holes with #golddust and #glossmedium. The red is a mix of different red spray paints that I had. This one gave me a bit of trouble actually😅 (had it done for a while too🫣). I didn’t have the right size #mold so I essentially had to stick two molds together and hope they didn’t slip while I was curing the #UVResin I debated on whether to have the sides level or to let the #shape of the #glass show through. So, of course, I did both. 😄Ultimately, I like the irregularity, tho I will have to mind the points so it’s easier to string. This is the first example of my magnification #talisman (or would it be a #totem at this size🧐 it’s like 3 feet🙃) tho it’s a different type. This type is not directly connected to the totems that are #nature based. This is a veil type (there are 3 veils). Haven’t really talked about the veils because I’m still working on the aspects of them😅You’ve already seen the books. This one would correspond with the gold book (https://www.instagram.com/p/CAObOYMpaZM/?igshid=NmNmNjAwNzg=). The #red is the signifier for earthly virtues with the #gold acting as the enlivener/activator. In this case it’s to amplify creativity and drive, which is something I personally need right now. She moody🤣🤣🤣 Not the look I was going for but I goofed 🤷🏽‍♀️I used a spray #primer (mostly cause I wanted to preserve the #texture from the #spraysnow) completely forgetting spray primer does not like taking #acrylicwashes all too much😅 I wanted to do #muted #marbling with the grays with some accent colors but that may not happen now. I’ll probably end up doing #pastel coloring on my #flowers to bring some softness into it. I’m thinking pink, which is probably shocking to the people who know me (I hate #pink, I just call it anemic #red😂). I have decided on the #woodflowers I’ll be using: the Gail and sunburst. They’re very similar and energetic which I think will help my moody #plaque. I’ll definitely be trying my hand at making some #paper #leaves for this. So, I decided to try something new! I know, shocking right 🤪 I wanted to do a #floralarrangement that was a bit more #painterly and used #mixedmedia. Honestly, this may be a bit too much #texture😅 but I guess we’ll see after it gets painted. I fully expect for some of it to fall off. I’ve had the wooden plaque for a while, the bowl vase is #papermaché, and the texture is a mix of #modeling paste, #crackle #paste, #tissuepaper, and that spray #snow for windows. The spray snow makes some cool little textures depending on how much of it you spray but it does have the tendency to flake even with a protective layer🥺 I haven’t fully decided on which #flowers to use for this #boutique yet. As I stated in another post , I got some new ones and some raw #sola paper to try and make some flowers of my own. I’ve really been thinking hard about mixing my wood flowers with paper leaves that I’d make. It’s been really hard trying to find the #preservedfloral and #leaves that I like and finding a place that will package them safely. I still can’t find the #palmfronds that I want. So, been working on this scroll for a little over a month. I saw some antique Jewish(?) #scrolls and thought 🤔I want one!!! 😁 The original scrolls have a wooden case covered by metal. I obviously don’t have the money or tools to do either, so I did my approximation of it. Ultimately, it is a failure tho 😅 All the thought and time I took in figuring out how to make the holder how to get the scroll in the case, safely and protected, I forgot the most important thing about the scroll… that it has to roll 😅🤯😵‍💫😫 Hours of work just to forget the basic functions 😅😂. But I’m already planning to redo it and to make it look better now that I, kinda, know what I’m doing. I also have the #design for the inside already planned out. This only about half of it. I just used a scrap of paper I tested dyes and inks on. I really enjoy dyeing paper. It’s always cool to see what kind of #accidental #patterns come up after it dries. And ironically, I used the longest strip I had on the scroll. Which is already glued and I would essentially have to rip and damage to use (cause it’s not exactly on straight or flat, and the edges are really rough).🥹 And if you’re wondering why my Cri #ocean symbols is off… yes, I messed up and just decided to feel it in🫠🤫 But!! I’m still really happy I did this mock-up.🥰 Here’s to round 2💗💗and I probably going to be looking into making my own #dowelrod caps. I haven’t really seen anyones that I like.
