Go in peace my daughter. And remember that, in a world of ordinary mortals, you are a Wonder Woman.

"You did? How is she?" Pulling her hands back, resting them on her hips.  "You ought to come see her, and settle her fears of your well-being." She loved Cassie as she thought she would a daughter -- though Diana did not know that blessing yet.
Diana returned the embrace with a hearty enough hug that it might have lifted Cassie a few inches off the ground. Letting her loose, her hands remained on Cassie’s shoulders, looking her over to make sure she’s well.
“She is fine, though I am sure she misses having you around.”

Well, it was a little too late -- not that she blamed him. Bruce might have made some sort of backhanded comment, but not Clark. "She's fine. She wishes that I would come home and stay more often -- and the same of Cassie, at times, but otherwise, she fares well."
“The people you cared for are an understood given, Clark.” She turns the bracelet on her wrist, looking down at it. “I’ve been on the island, occupied with my mother’s feverish need to plan a feast.” She’s bringing the blue of her gaze up to him. “I am sorry to say it escaped my attention, as well.”

She chuckled, one hand rising to tuck her hair behind her ear. "Mr. Brooding is Better? He'll have to do for now, I don't think he'd let us replace him if we tried." She had mixed feelings about Bruce -- she knew he was about truth and justice, but she wasn't sure if she liked his methods, or his attitude.
"But yes, it needs people like us. Always will. So you had best find a lovely lady and start making some replacements for us, when we get old." It was a warm, teasing smile that played out on her lips.

Diana, ever the font of well-thought out advice and meteorological wisdom. Clark favored her with a softer smile, something a little more himself and less the shining becon of hope that he was being made into.
“Yeah,” he said, after a small stretch. “The earth needs rain. I guess it also needs us, right? And people like us.” Clark paused, thought for a moment. “Maaaybe not as many people like Batman, but he’ll do for now.” He teased.

If she had been wearing it, she might have been a little bothered. As it was, she eyed him curiously.
“Child, I am tired. Why do you insist?”

“So don’t become that kind of person. People like you, it’s not necessarily a bad thing.. Just remember to make time for yourself.” Diana didn’t know about being overwhelmingly popular — people knew who she was, but she was a little thankful it wasn’t the same as Clark’s situation.
“And the earth needs rain.”

“Well, I like cats. And I think people just associate you with rescuing things, big and small.” She rolled her eyes playfully when the pun left his lips.
“I’ve been well, thank you. How has Metropolis been?”

"Child, I am tired. Why do you insist?"
“Don’t be so sure. I would have to work up the desire, first.”
