Janie feels like such a powerful song cause yes, it's about Ethel being upset that her relationship with her best friend is changing after Janie gets a boyfriend, but after listening to it, I feel like you could also listen to it from Janie's pov after Ethel goes missing.

I usually hate politicians but she would actually do some good things. Obviously she would make trans healthcare available, defend queer rights and abortion rights, and she’d stop sending US aid to Israel. I know that for a fact.
