My shop is built on values of kindness, creativity, and respect for all. That's why I'm deeply disturbed by Etsy's failure to effectively address hateful merchandise like "Alligator Alcatraz," "Gator Gitmo," and fake ICE badges.
This content promotes cruelty and undermines the very spirit of a community-driven platform. I continue to urge Etsy to uphold its own policies and immediately remove these offensive items.

Help call for a more ethical marketplace. Report hateful listings and any shops you see promoting this kind of violence.
To report a shop on Etsy:
Visit the shop on Etsy.com and choose Report this shop to Etsy on the left.
Select a reason from the dropdown and add a note.
Choose Report this shop.
To report an item on Etsy.com:
Select Report this item to Etsy on the listing page.
Select a reason from the dropdown and add a note.
Choose Submit report.
If you like, you can use this example to paste into the note field of your report:
"This listing contains derogatory language targeting individuals based on their ethnicity, which violates Etsy's Anti-Discrimination and Hate Speech Policy.
The name normalizes the dehumanization of immigrants and potentially profits from human rights abuses. The term is symbolizing cruelty and celebrates a modern concentration camp, designed to exploit fears about immigrants rooted in racism and xenophobia." Myself, I am still researching alternatives to selling on Etsy. In an email exchange, they confirm that reporting items and shops is the best action we can take, but I've told them I plan to move to a new platform unless they issue a firm statement against these types of items, and promise to take a firmer stand in support of their own policies by the end of July. (So far, Storenvy seems the most comparable, and I wasn't able to find any of the same offensive listings there)

Currently on Etsy, go report the items for sale and tell them what you think.

I feel this so hard. I already had one little meltdown/panic attack this week. It should not be business as usual. Keep talking about it!
i don't understand how everything is just.. going on as usual in america. nobody i run into seems terribly concerned. how can people stand it. this is not business as usual, we as a nation are committing geopolitical suicide and showing unchecked aggression to major powers, losing allies. domestically we have concentration camps, we have a gestapo, we have a government that's fully mask off about not caring about whether 99% of americans live or die. our government just voted to take healthcare away from nearly 20 million of the most vulnerable among us. how is everybody acting normal? how is this business as usual? i feel fucking insane

Spent more than an hour chatting online and on the phone with Amazon customer service trying to find out if concentration camp merchandise is against Amazon policy and if such merchandise will be removed from the website. I spoke to two different people on the chat and then was on the phone with a third for more than 40 minutes before I got disconnected. Still no answer.

This needs to be front and center every day. We can't go about our daily business while the US is putting people in a concentration camp.

I have been reporting Alligator Alcatraz items, but there are SO MANY. I also chatted with Etsy customer service and told them I will not be making any purchases on a site that sells concentration camp merchandise.
It seems that Etsy is allowing concentration camp merch to be sold on their site. Please stop using Etsy and demand that they remove it. If you sell things on Etsy, threaten to leave.
This is unacceptable

Thank you!! This needed to be said loud and clear!!
I fucking hate that the general response to RFK Jr's eugenist take on autistic people is "autistic people do pay taxes, autistic people do work, autistic people do date!"
Some autistic people don't and that shouldn't make them less worthy of life. Some autistic people do need constant help and support and that shouldn't make them less worthy of life.
Once again we're falling in the right wing trap of :
They make a hateful, fascist statement
Instead of focusing on the fact that it is hateful and fascist we try to show them that they are factually wrong
We throw our own allies and the most vulnerable of us under the bus in the process
We legitimise an only slightly less hateful, fascist view as we go
They have completed their goal of making us accept the still hateful, fascist second version, hurrah. What a victory.
Right now what we're getting to with that is that autistic people who can work and pay taxes are okay, and the others aren't. Fuck this shit.
Same thing happens with the people who are being deported ("they have a visa!", "they didn't even have a criminal record!" -> even if they didn't have a visa, even if they did have a criminal record, deporting them and detaining them in what's essentially a concentration camp wouldn't be okay, you absolute tools of fascism.)

Most of the people illegally rendered to a brutal Salvadoran prison, and supposedly now beyond the reach of the US government, have no criminal record. Are you awake yet?

At the end of the protest at the Heritage Foundation today, we created a memorial to the freedoms we are losing. We beautified the sidewalk for them, too. 😉

Johns Hopkins University recently told their community not to warn people or help them escape if ICE shows up on campus. Let them know what you think about that! Especially JHU alums/staff/students/donors etc.

What Marco Rubio is doing to valid visa-holders for exercising their First Amendment rights is fascist totalitarianism. There is no getting around that. Don't be silent now. If you don't think they will be coming for U.S. citizens next, then you will have a nasty surprise coming.
