Colorblind

Colorblind

As we pass strangers just walking down the street,

There are so many faces, colors, and personas to meet.

All unique and individual to there own, wandering different paths and looking for their own truths to hone.

Each person has different styles, make up, and hair. Sporting tones and hues, some common and some rare. Some are pleasing to the eye, while others try to hide and act shy, and some moving too quickly just trying to get by.

Everyone has a story to tell. If you only stop to look at the cover you may not hear it too well.

If we all take the time to listen and hear, we may find something much more dear.

It’s a crazy thought to listen to understand instead of respond.

A sense of understanding that goes above and beyond.

Communication and perception is then left to interpretation.

If you listen to understand then there is no misrepresentation.

We are not that different. We all have so much in common.

Whether it is striving for success or how we like our ramen.

We all want to be accepted and loved.

We want to have something to believe in up above.

Look for the good in each other; treat each other like a sister or brother.

Empathy and compassion need to have the upper hand.

Don’t let your eyes deceive you or let people tell you where to stand.

See with your minds eye and your heart; we’re all just human.

Division is only in the state of mind. Unnecessarily created by mankind.

All these lines and borders are categorizations made of control and fear.

Imagine what would happen if we all chose not to adhere.

The bible refers to this as a sign of the second coming.

Really it’s a sign of people coming together instead of running.

To be able to relate to anyone in any state, be it through experience, music, food, gaming, or fate. It is remarkable the acquaintances you can meet, if you could simply lift your eyes from your feet. This mental fear and hate is a waist of energy. If we stop looking for the differences in others, we could accomplish so much more through synergy.

Your name, color, body decorations, or gender have nothing to do with your capabilities. These differences should not define us, and they are not disabilities.

It is not our place to judge others. Where is the compassion? We should only look to each other’s characters and actions. Even if we don’t always agree, we can find a common ground, a mean. We owe it to ourselves, our goals, and our dreams.
