Yesterday’s #mood after curating my first youth wearable/visual art opening for students on the east side via @thebaekerydet for #LipkeCenter. I must say, as proud as I am of them, I’m so proud of myself. It was most of their first times learning how to sew or paint and I did not let them quit. Little did I know how big the reward was gonna be. How proudly they stood back and picked out their work for people to see. The pride after not being pleased with results and trying again. The pride in creating a vision that began on paper and finished in limited time. The babies showed out! Y’all. I am so FULL! Today, The art is still open for viewing and I will be holding a discussion with the young artists on inspiration and intentional expression from 4-6p!
