To be fair, I think it's more than reasonable for someone to be uncomfortable with their partner spending chunks of time detailing fictional sex in collaboration with someone who may very well be a stranger to them. Some people take issue with that in their relationships, and I don't think that indicates some kind of lack of understanding of what makes fictional stories fictional. Every relationship has different dynamics, and if someone hasn't talked about whether or not it's okay to write romantic/erotic things with someone else with their partner, I think jealousy and discomfort are reasonable reactions.

Just because RP is "just RP" - that is, something that is done for leisure - doesn't mean someone's partner is foolish for having negative feelings about it. That being said, I think abstaining from writing those sorts of things with coupled people is probably a good idea, but there's no need to shift blame by putting emphasis on the partner's discomfort.

I have a personal policy not to do anything but Fade to Black with people who I know are in relationships OOC. Does it limit me? Yeah. But, I've had far too many RPs end abruptly because someone's husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever got jealous and made them end the plot. Some people just can't separate erotic actions between characters from erotic actions between players, and I'm just not willing to lose any more plots to that craziness.

My living situation is pretty dismal, and while my family supports me financially to a degree they’re pretty careful about making sure I don’t have too much money of my own while I’m working toward my degree. That being said, I’d like to make some money to put away in my second account so I have a safety net to work with when my partner and I move in together!

9. What about political beliefs?

Gamarai derives her personal politics from an anti-authoritarian line of thinking - her formative experiences in regards to governments and monarchies are deeply-rooted and personal, and extend beyond the realm of academic study because of that. She has no desire to unseat sitting kings or overturn theocracies, but she does choose to make her home on the fringes of society and away from the scrutiny of potentially conservative-minded neighbors.

Midsummer I

Gamarai lets herself in at ten to three. Her slippers hardly make a sound as she tiptoes across the wooden floor.

Teanne lay comfortably in the bed toward the end of the narrow room, her thoughts padded from outside noise by the depth of her slumber. Gamarai skulks around the rustic cottage no more than she has to; between undressing and redressing for bed and brushing her teeth over the broad sill of the open kitchen window, she spends just under ten minutes stirring the silence of the witching hour.

The clock bells of Darnassus echo thrice in the distance as she climbs into bed.

“Teanne,” she whispers. The worgen she clutches under the sea of messy sheets stirs slightly. “I met an elf today - one of the nightborne from my old home. You’ve been out in Stormheim some, right? I’m sure you’ve encountered them there, but this woman was so far from home, and she seemed desperate not to call attention to herself. What do you think about that?”

The worgen turns over in Gamarai’s arms and chuffs a sleepy breath in, but she offers no response.

“Well,” Gamarai continues, “I think it’s lovely, like some sort of novel come to life, but I can’t help but feel some concern for her. She seemed a little more than out of sorts. That could just be my imagination though. Say! She also told me if I told anyone about her she would find me, and with all that Shal'dorei magic I bet she knows, I don’t doubt it. I said we’d have some stew ready.”

Teanne snores a little in Gamarai’s face, but it’s brief and gentle and ends with a comfortable smack of the lips. Gamarai pushes her nose up against her partner’s and smiles wildly, her curious eyes like two tiny lantern flames in the morning darkness.

“Doesn’t that sound fun? All right, Teanne. Good night. I’ll see you in the morning.”
