Welp... a milestone is about to be reached, as the next time I ride my daily driver Honda Ruckus scooter, it’ll definitely pass the 10,000 mile mark. So, to celebrate the occasion 🎉 I entered the bike into the @tunerevo @portland car show coming in a couple months... Added some black acrylic paint strokes to the white parts of the canvas, while tapping over all the ink scribbled parts. I’ll probably do one more round of touch ups before I say this is a complete and finished piece. VMA-231 the first Aviation squadron of the United States Marine Corps turned 100 years old last month. Some people have expressed interest in getting copies, might do like a limited edition print (maybe 50 or so, depending on the demand) so people can get “copy 1 of 20” or something. Almost done with this art project, this is my first time using color in a scribble portrait. In homage to the squadron I belonged to while in the Marines, whom just turned 100 years old, decided to make some kind of art piece to commemorate the event, since no one else seems to be going to do it. Working on a project, doing an art piece for my old squadron that just turned 100 years old. VMA (Marine Attack Squadron 231) was founded in 1919 as the 1st aviation squadron in the #marinecorps I’m drawing the old #aircraft in my scribble sketch method I use. Finished this art piece today. It’s a portrait of myself. I used black acrylic paint to make different shades of grey, and cut about a thousand triangles of different shapes. But it drops to mid 30 degrees, with constant rain and some snow, and all of a sudden, your text messages to go out riding go ignored. I need to look for some hardcore year round scooter riders. I was asking my bud, who also owns a @hondaruckus why he doesn’t ride his scooter in the cold. He said he wanted to take care of his ride. I feel like... why own it if you’re not gonna ride it alllll the time? I asked him if he considered his scooter “a mini motorcycle” and he said yes, which explains it, because I think of my Ruckus as a motorized mountain bike.
