Hey everyone.

My cat Darcy needs to have some mats removed from her chest and stomach and a bloodwork lab done. She’s 9 years old (turning 10 in December) with arthritis and stage 2 renal (kidney) disease. She has trouble grooming herself for these reasons.

I have made a GoFundMe for her, using an estimate given to me today (August 7th) for the procedures she need done. They include a grooming to shave off all of the mats and clean her ears, a gas anesthesia since that’s the safest form for her, and a comprehensive bloodwork lab to make sure her kidney and pancreas levels are stable and to find the cause of one being abnormally high. The estimate was for about $290 USD, but I’m hoping to raise about $400 just in case it ends up being more expensive.

I currently don’t have a job but am trying to get one which is difficult. Everything is explained in further detail in her GoFundMe, including pictures of the estimate along with a breakdown of each, a previous bloodwork lab from 2022 also with explanations, and of course pictures of Darcy herself. I don’t currently qualify for any credit or loans due to some past loans being in collections and having a bad credit score. I’ve tried them all.

Any amount would help if you’re able to. If you can at least spread the word around to others who may be able to help, I would be so, so grateful.

please help with darcys medical bills!!

this is my cat darcy, she is 8 years old and i adopted her this year in january. she has kidney disease stage 2 and has recently developed pancreatitis.

she spent a few days hospitalised at the emergency vet clinic here, and i have maxxed out my family's carecredit card for her. i currently don't have a job and darcy needs to be seen by the vet in about a week to check how she's doing.

these are some photos of her 2 most recent vet bills. the emergency vet is the one with the total of $1185. the regular vet, including a day of hospitalisation, is the one of $340. as you can see, i had to pay the balance today partially with a debit card because i ran out of carecredit credit.

I am not the clown I once was. I've changed. For better or worse? I cannot say. Maybe neither, maybe both.

I find that my honks are not silly and lively anymore, but have now changed into a sorrowful hum.

My once joyful smile has fallen downward into a frown and a tear drop marking has developed under my left eye. My once rosy cheeks have faded and all that is left is that pale clown white.

I reflect on my past clown-self. I was naive and foolish. Oblivious to the horrors of the world around me.

And now I have grown older and as the cobwebs build around me, I feel the weight of the universe getting heavier with each passing day.

It is not as horrid as it may sound, though. I believe this is something we all must face at some point in our lives. We all must change and gain perspective.

And I know I will continue to change. I will continue to shed my skin and change colors. I will continue to see the dark, the light, and all the shades in between.
