Someone has probably already said this, but I realized that Colin never dances in Season 3 until it’s with Penelope. And we even get two hints as to the gravity of that symbolism through Benedict:
one, when Miss Stowell corners Benedict into a dance but Colin can’t be convinced by any of the other ladies to get on the floor (even when they overtly try after the balloon rescue), and
two, when Will Mondrich makes that comment about “one dance and you’ve signaled you are available”.
Colin was completely genuine in his disinterest in the marriage mart this season and stood on business by explicitly refusing to dance with anyone outright. Which means, in the previous seasons, he totally understood what dancing with Penelope would look like, and he did it anyway. (Because he loved her already and didn’t mind the insinuation, obvs.)
In fact, the only time he gets on the dance floor before getting engaged is to interrupt Penelope and Debling — another subtle signal that he was thrusting himself into the marriage mart, but only if it was going to be with Penelope. Not to mention, man couldn’t stop dancing the very second he was engaged to her.
Anyway, my point is, Colin’s been in love with Pen forever and to them, dancing is a far more intimate an act than it has been to any other couple and I love them for it.

I’m already frothing at the mouth at having a season where it’s immediately love at first sight for a Bridgerton like Benedict is already on his knees for Sophie and he ain’t even said one word to her yet and has simply admired her in awestruck wonder from across the room like the romantic artist he is!!

it’s the way I know we’re getting Eloise and Francesca’s seasons (slay I can’t wait) but Netflix will most likely cancel after that and arguably the best books for an adaptation (Gregory and Hyacinth’s, respectfully) will get left in the dark and paid dust bc everyone always forgets about them and their phenomenal love stories…aurkay

I’m curious on what the show runners goals were with teasing the first two seasons of Benedict being interested in men and then having him fully give in to the intrigue of being with one intimately if they’re not going to mention it or have it be apart of the plot in s4 ya know? Like I really don’t see them exploring it further in s4 since we know he ultimately ends up with Sophie and there wouldn’t be a way to incorporate his liking of men/being bisexual into that relationship (unless they throw some sort of curveball or come up with something that I just can’t think of atm) but I guess I’m just wondering what their goal was from the beginning of even teasing it if it was ultimately not going to go anywhere or be part of his main plot if he ever got his own season.
#am I crazy for even thinking about it lmao like I just want to know what the point was besides some representation or intrigue#cause one would think it would lead to him having intrigue of both parties#for his season and not just the straight storyline we’ve had for every main couple#if that makes a lick of sense#but also I know how fans of each couple are the thought of having any of them queer for the show adaptation makes ppl lose their minds#bridgerton#bridgerton s4#benedict bridgerton#sophie baek#benophie#bridgerton season four

*at another ton event after Pen and Colin shared their first kiss*
Eloise: I spoke to Penelope-
Colin, attempting to be completely calm and collected and show that he’s not vibrating at a frequency that could shatter a skyscraper window at the mere mention of Penelope : omg that’s so great and cool and spectacular love this for you guys anyway did she say anything about me 🤭

“you have to work to earn your right to live in this world sorry that’s just the way things are and it’s never going to change.” we built this world from the ground up over thousands of years of toil and strife and have been through countless systems and societies built on the concepts of ideas and dreams for better lives. we can dismantle these systems brick by brick if we have to- the concept of there being no other option for life has never been inconceivable for the dedicated yearner and hope-seeker.
#it makes me so mad that this is all we think we’re worth as humans- never ending work until death#we can do better and should continue to strive to do better! not be complacent!#politics#united states#work life#existence#bran rambles

Benophie's story probably won't span years like it does in the books. So how do you think they'll manage that transition of Sophie going from Araminta's household to the Bridgerton household without the time skip?
Do you think they'll just cut out the middle man and have her go to the Bridgertons immediately?
Feel no pressure to respond if you're not a book reader :)
I’m curious about this as well!! It’s been a minute since I read the book but I have a feeling for time sake they’ll cut out the middle man and have something happen to where Sophie goes to the Bridgerton’s maybe by Benedict’s persuasion or a pure coincidence, if that makes sense.
Or maybe Araminta will plan somehow for one of the sisters to go for Benedict and it puts the Bridgerton’s in a position to have the Baek’s at their home and vice versa and Benedict by proxy starts being around Sophie more and starts falling for her more than the sister 👀. So Benedict will use the sister/sisters as a guise to be closer to Sophie while ‘courting’ them.
I know that would be kinda similar to s2 plot in some regard, but I feel like there’s going to be coercion of some sort on Amarantha’s part somehow or someway 😭
