I, Naki of @valkyrthra, declare a nið, challenge those who have been picking ᚾᛁᚦ apart my friends, family & community here on tumblr. A nið, in old Norse / Viking culture, was a declaration of a Flyting Senna. Let's see how good your knowledge is to pick a part people's knowledge of the Sagas, stories, lore & mythos fairs again me, since you seem so proud of your knowledge of the Norse Mythologies that you feel the need to come on to other's blogs & nitpick minor details. Details that you corrected that didn't needed correcting, factually, regardless of IF the muse was altered for someone's own universe that you have ZERO say in. You in the cases that I am aware of, you have been factually WRONG.

-Flyting for those who do not know. Flyting or fliting (Classical Gaelic: immarbág, Irish: iomarbháigh, lit. "counter-boasting") is a contest consisting of the exchange of insults between two parties, often conducted in verse. (Wiki) Or in other words a battle of wits & insults using poems. In other words, & this is NOT my words but still describes it pretty well, its a Viking Rap battle.

Okay by the rules flyting, I have declared a challenge, now to issue ᛖᚱᚷᛁ ᚠᛚᛁᛏᛁᛜ the terms. The rules of the dual are

That it has to be poetry done in HISTORICAL Viking metrical principles, but in English.

It has to rhyme at least every other half line.

Insults to each other are accepted & in the true spirit of flyting is encouraged.

You can keep your anon status, my anons will be off, but you will be considered dishonorable by Viking cultural rules. If you chose to stay on anons then I will be posting the responses. You may do the same.

We will each do one Ljóðaháttr (ᛚᛃᛟᚦᚨᚺᚨᛏᛏᚱ), song meter, consisting of two sets of 3 lines but the first two lines are half lines. Below is clippet of the Lokesanna from the Eddas as an example of what I am describing. Thorpe's Translation Lokesenna 1a.) Hail, Æsir! 1.b.) Hail, Asyniur! 2a.) And ye, all-holy gods! 2.b.) all, save that one man, 3a.) who sits within there, 3b.)Bragi, on yonder bench x2

Father?!? I heard my father, Thor's voice. I didn't expect to be hearing his voice for some time. I don't get to leave the Valhǫll often, usually coming home to the grand city of the Æsir, Asgard. My father is the Lord of Thunder, striking his hammer on his anvil causing the lightning & thunder that the people of Midgard commonly saw. My mother, the golden haired Lady of families, & of the wheat, Sif. Father was often busy, so I didn't expect to see him so soon.

I turned around to see my father Thor, son of Odin, The Allfather & king of the Æsir & Jord, the Jotun Lady of Earth, standing there with a kind, loving & concerned look on his face. He called me his wild flower. Awww. I love when he does that.

I nod to my father in affirmation of his question about the state of my nature, although I didn't really know what to tell him. To be honest I was nervous as hell, no not the Lady of the afterlife, just really nervous, to tell my father that he has a grandchild now. Well, has had one. It's been a while since I've been home. Or maybe I am nervous to tell him that I had the child's father raise them, or that the child's father is the dwarf that he didn't like me being involved with.

"I...uh... Maybe we go talk bout this over a pint.....or five, er....maybe ten pints of mead? How's that sound?" I smile at Thor, lightly brushing the fur draped over his shoulders, smoothing out the jostled bristles.

"Also good morrow, Father. I've missed you." I quickly said, my happiness unmistakable as I hugged my father.

[A BIT ABOUT THE MUN] Pronouns: She/They I am a 38 year old First Nation's woman, from both the Cherokee Nation & Hopi tribe. My goal on here is to give Native American muses a voice, & possibly, if my writing partner is on-board with it, to call attention to issues that Native Americans struggle with.

BASICS

SHIPPING: SO I am not anti-shipping but I am particular about it. So IF you plan or want to ship characters please talk to me about it first. I will not ship any character under the age of 21. TRIGGERS: So sometimes there are things that are more common than other things to trigger people. IF a post has something triggering in it I will post it with a  TWs before the post as to say TRIGGER WARNING. I do ask for writings with me to have the same curtesy.

WRITING & PLOTTING: I don't have any specific way I expect people to format their posts. I do pleadingly ask that at least make it more than one sentence and please make it descriptive.
