it's impossible not to feel the same giddy joy amal (@/amal-ashour-now2) has about being a new mum again, reading those messages

but with it, amal's terrified, because her life isn't even remotely the same as the one it was during her first pregnancy. the beautiful life amal & moatasem created for their new family, turned into nothing but a waking nightmare since oct. 2023. little maryam, who's not even 3, has known a life of bullets and bombs, tents and endless hunger, longer than she's known the life of security and calm her parents provided her with for the first 9 months of her life. and at a time when amal needs to be stress-free, well rested, and to have access to proper nutrition, she's been deprived of all three. now, she's also facing the daunting task of having to start over her campaign (read more about why here).
