How Sherlock handles grief/sadness

- People who don’t know Sherlock that well can’t even tell when he’s sad. His sadness is subtle

- Sherlock gets quieter, speaks less, makes less quips

- He plays his violin more and says it helps him to think. He composes sad songs

- He won’t eat and won’t sleep. Basically he stops taking care of himself physically

- If it’s really bad, he’ll turn to smoking or drugs

- If he’s upset with someone specifically, he’ll ignore them more and talk to them less

This exchange will never not be funny to me.

"Your name has arisen" - yeah Mycroft, what you mean to say is that you brought up your own brother's name. You told your colleagues and the queen that there's not a single human being who would handle this better than Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock knows this, so he asks Mycroft why on Earth he wants his help. And he feels the need to remind everyone in the room that Mycroft is such an important, powerful person that he owns the police, the secret service and the navy and couldn't possibly require a mere mortal's help. (And for some reason Sherlock insists on this subject even though Mycroft came to him about "a matter of national importance" one episode ago. . . I guess Sherlock knew in TGG that his brother wanted to monitor him, whereas this time Mycroft really requires Sherlock because he trusts him more than anyone else.)

Also I can imagine like 13 year old Sherlock wanting to get a grasshopper to observe it more closely or something and then nearly get run over lol

For all of Sherlock wanting to breathe without an umbrella holding man running after him, or sending someone else after him— there is no reason that should happened, for the sake of the world's safety.

Also. I'm sure Sherlock keeps all sorts of tabs on Mycroft too so really he can't complain all that much.
