Mild redesign for Iron. Tried to make him a bit beefier. I want that tired smith look. Before it was like… coal miner with a paper clip for a salary look now he can have beef.

So- how tall exactly is Actinium?..also I love his design! I love all your ocs designs! :3
Also how destructive is he?..like, on a scale of 1-10 (one being some damage and 10 being a whole city destroyed in a few minutes).
Ah thank you!
I thought I had him on a height chart but apparently he didn't make it on. Lanthanum did though and the first drawing I have of the two are together:
Tumblr media
And Lanthanum is this tall (since Steven Universe heights are all relative rather than numbers):
Tumblr media
So I'd say Actinium is about Yellow Diamond's height.
Actinium is not the most destructive of the Radioactive Metals. His size though could probably do significant damage to a city if he wanted to. His lasting radiation effects would probably be more significant. I'd say about a 6 destructive level.

I don't know if this was already explained or if someone else already asked this, but is the body of a Metal made of a projection of hard light like a Gem's body?
Yes! They're from the same planet and similar in biology to the Gems. There are some exceptions like Mercury who seems to be capable of having an entire body of liquid metal, but otherwise the similar projections of hard light.
A difference is: while Gems are created in the earth, Metals are created in stars.

“Did somebody say OIL?!”
One of my other Radioactive Beasties: Americium. He comes with an obnoxious loud laugh. If he’s not laughing, he’s snickering. Can’t actually speak so only obnoxious. Americium releases a toxic gas though.
Fun fact: Americium is in your home. Probably. (Like as in there might be a little amount in your smoke detector depending on what type you have.)
Fun fact: One of the proposed names for the actual element was delirium because of how difficult it was to separate from curium (which would’ve been named pandemonium). Honestly they should’ve stuck with the alternates.

Rhenium’s reference redraw. A previous one here from 2020, apparently I did not get around to posting the 2018 version here.
Rhenium’s a Metal who’s technically a Noble Metal but does not want to be one as she’d prefer a life of danger and adrenaline. She hangs out with the adrenaline junkies Molybdenum and Tungsten, rather than the Platinum Family. She’s very strong physically, the muscles aren’t just for show. She has some psychic abilities, like creating a pocket dimension that flips orientation for anyone she drags in, causing confusion and giving her the upper hand.

(Ga)y people.
Redrew my first drawing of these two because I wanted to draw them. The original (link) is from… *chokes* 2016! (Also I’ll add the coloured version below the cut because I never uploaded the coloured version for some reason)
They’re Steven Universe OCs who quite literally melt in each other’s arms. Both are he/him. And they’re in gay love.
Indium is a tech engineer/designer for the Metals, creating the holoscreens. He is also one of the Metals that follows Hydrogen (worshipped as creating the Metals and everything, Hydrogen doesn’t like this but also hates confrontation so they hide rather than try to get other Metals to stop it). Indium is very outgoing, and thinks Gallium is the smarter one and hates it when Gallium puts himself down.
Gallium is a lower class Metal who has more of a liquid body much like Mercury. Unlike Mercury, he isn’t poison with a god complex. So he’s a replacement for what would’ve been good for Mercury to do but Gallium does instead (Mercury hates him). Because of this, he thinks he’s just a stand in for anyone. He’s a bit shy and nervous, but loves Indium.
When these two get too close (especially kissing) they have a tendency to fuse and form Galinstan. Galinstan can be found more easily than Gallium or Indium separately.

Yttrium. Redrew his reference. Below the cut will be the ones from previous years?
A news broadcast host for Metals, he has a very outgoing personality and knows how to make guests and those he interviews comfortable. He’s often the one to go on the scene of whatever the news story is. His cohost is Germanium, and while the news is important, the main reason others tune in to watch is for the animosity between these two. They resent each other, although attempt to be professional enough to deliver the actual news, but their jabs at each other still come through. Germanium often comments on Yttrium being unfocused and watering down more negative news, while Yttrium often delivers insults that may take a moment to process as insults, often because they’re delivered in a “side note” way before returning to the main topic and Yttrium smiling the entire time. Germanium is known to be the one to take things in a more serious manner and is rather blunt.
Yttrium is one of four siblings, and is the most well known and in the spotlight (the other three are Ytterbium (eldest), Terbium (second youngest), and Erbium (youngest)).
I’m reworking Metals’ abilities so his are a WIP??

I get to draw my OCs once in a while. As a treat.
Mercury because I realized the last two times I drew them their face was hidden in shadow I think?? Anyway. Their body is made up of mercury (liquid metal more watery than watery but they hold it together although they can split their body into pieces and control it). Chaotic and unpredictable. With a god complex.

Do any of your metalsonas have corrupted forms like gems? If so what are they like?
Corrupted forms are basically Radioactive Metals. There's a higher likelihood of it destroying (killing) the Metal if they become corrupted, and some Metals just come out corrupted (radioactive). There wasn't a whole lot known at first about the Radioactive Metals until Radium came along, her form the most "stable looking" as she resembled many of the other nonradioactive Metals (humanoid for the most part) and was very smart and seem to assist in research. Turns out she was infecting nonradioactive Metals with radiation in order to see what would happen and wiped out a third of the population. Survivors of this were Technetium and Promethium who ended up becoming Radioactive Metals/corrupted.
Radioactive Metals are a mixed bunch in terms of what they're like. They have little care for others though, and vary in how feral they are (some can speak fluently while others won't understand anything said to them and can't speak). They tend to be destructive and are considered dangerous because they can infect other Metals (it's thought that it can lead to some corruption with Gems) so most are contained within the Pit, a prison built for them. They tend to have other abilities and personality quirks other than being radioactive, but most look monstrous in some form or another. Of course some are against having them in the Pit but unfortunately there's no way of telling what they might do (accidentally or purposefully).
Some Metals have immunity to radiation, Leads, Thalliums, Vanadiums, and Argons seem to have this trait, leading to most becoming workers at the Pit. Technetium and Promethium are also not contained as they retained their conscience/sentience. They both take a lot of care not to infect others, Technetium attempting to work in the medical sector to use it to assist others while wearing protective equipment, while Promethium isolates himself away from others.

I want to push myself and make horror or serious and figure that out so I decided to try that with my Steven Universe Metal OC Uranium here coming out of wherever.

“I need you to understand that I’m not your enemy. I’m on your side. The world has shown time and time again that it will only fail and reject you. There’s only one way to change that, and that’s to take matters into your own hands. And you won’t be alone as I’ll be there by your side to make sure that you find a place of respect.”
Lead. One of the remaining Metals. They were first to find Earth (of Metals or Gems) and settle on it.
Lead is a highly manipulative person, their patience is extraordinary, and their main tool is charisma. Mercury has a god complex but what’s a god to a nonbeliever (Lead). They’re smart with their methods, keeping themselves down low on things rather than demanding thrones. By the time someone realizes what Lead is doing, the damage is done and often leaves humans “finished”. They promise humans immortality but often end humans if Lead believes they’ve betrayed them (or they use that excuse). All with eerie calmness.
Lead often plays victim with their speeches/etc, using the Gems nearly wiping out their species. Lead had a twin, Thallium, who is MIA since but believed to have been one of the many victims. Although Lead is actually a triplet that includes Bismuth, but resents Bismuth. Lead’s aware of their weaknesses: not physically strong like other Metals and has lower defence. They use psychological tactics to cover them.

Carbon
One of the last surviving Metals, Carbon self isolated herself from the others, believing they didn’t want to see the closest thing to a Gem/Diamond that the Metals had. Especially after she was offered immunity by the Diamonds (she didn’t take the offer and fought, and ended up surviving). Most of the Metals don’t see it that way and are just happy for what they have left. Carbon being one of the keys to making more Metals, and being the remaining known connection to Hydrogen (if Hydrogen is alive. Hydrogen and Helium were the only ones who knew how to make more Metals, and no one thought there’d be a need to know it. Helium died though during the Takeover. Hydrogen’s fate unknown. Hydrogen was idolized against their will so often hid. Contact was limited.).
Carbon used to be an architect when Metals had their own place. She’s a humble and reserved Metal, her abilities including turning her body into complete diamond to attack or protect, and creating small life forms out of soot.
