Hello everyone. I'm still here. Sorry for the silence. My job is physically exhausting and on top of that I've been having health problems I need to start figuring out. I've got health insurance for the first time, so I'll be able to start seeing a doctor, thankfully. And then maybe things will become easier.

Anyway, the real reason I'm making this post is I just found out dashingdon will be shut down and everything deleted by the end of this month. This is really saddening news when I think of all the beloved, dead WIPs that may now be lost forever if no one initiates some kind of recovery effort.

For those that may be worried about my works in particular, there's no need. I have all of my files, so I can move the games over to the latest hosting site (I believe it's now cogdemos.ink?) whenever. And I'm making this post on my LfS blog because Love For Sundown will be the first time I make sure I do. It's a completed game, so you can say I'm more motivated to hold it up as an example of my works haha. So I'll make sure people can keep playing it as soon as possible. If you're wondering about HoF... I'll think about it. But all my other demos will make their way over eventually as well. I don't know how eager people are about my work anymore, though, so I might be slow about it.

That's all for now, though. I hope to get back to writing eventually. I just wish life were easier to live right now.

I decided to separate LfS into its own blog because my main is a mess lmao. But I will be able to tag more consistently over there so things should be easier to find.

So, my mom had to leave one of her jobs last week. She's trying to get a new one, but of course that takes time. I just got back from my trip, so my funds are currently depleted and I'm not back to work yet (I have one day next week, but that's as far as I know atm) so I don't have the money to help out right now. We're not in terrible shape yet, but I want to be sure we can actually afford to eat before someone gets back to her about a job.

So, this is all I can do.

This is very early for the new project's development, but as I was plotting today, I ran into a roadblock. I was struggling to think of much for individual scenes. I realized for 3 of the 5 ROs, they were new to me and I hadn't yet gotten to know them very well.

This blog is a writing blog purely to aid me in working on the game, do not expect to see anything very soon, but I was hoping to receive some help in getting to know the characters so I'll have an easier time writing them and filling out my timeline.

There are already two posts; one featuring the need-to-know lore of the Vulks and their clans, and the other featuring the currently known information on the MC and the ROs.

Thank you! Thank you to everyone who's shown their support, in fact. It's been so long since I've been active I thought my post would go largely unnoticed, but I'm happy to see there's still people paying attention.

How do you guys feel about the slice of life genre? What about dark slice of life?

I realize there's a relevant ask just a few posts down where I say I don't know if the characters will be used in other projects, but I would like to announce an official answer on that for one reason: Day is currently being repurposed for a new project, along with another face that will be familiar for long-time followers.

It will be a dark fantasy/eldritch horror slice-of-life romance currently planned to be set in (a fictionalized) 1920s with an all-Vulk RO cast, featuring never before seen Vulk clans and lore, as MC struggles not to succumb to the insanity of their Forbidden Knowledge in the cursed city of Vodon. It is currently in the plotting stage.

I am making this post purely so people will not be taken by surprise if, in the future, I come to the community for suggestions of things to happen, due to the loose structure and low stakes of the slice-of-life genre (although this will have some slightly higher stakes)

Hey, how are you? I was wondering how Effie would react to MC nicknaming her Starlight, or something equally ultra simp (I dunno like Moonflower) that was a play on both her hair and last name?

That's very cute, which is something Effie absolutely cannot handle lol. Prepare for aggressive flustering, where she'll seem quite unhappy with the pet name, but know she'll be even less happy if you stop.

Do you think your characters will ever make a return in other future stories, be as background or secondary? I can honestly see some of them being part of Love for Sundown verse, for example. Harlem, my beloved.

Truly don't know when this was sent, sorry (and to all the still unanswered asks as well, they're not being ignored on purpose. I'm waiting for me to answer them as much as you are.)

I don't know tho! What I know for sure is these characters aren't going to die. I'll keep writing them in some way. Whether that's just for personal enjoyment or friends, they're still floating around out there, now more or less lacking a canon setting, so I can shove them into any 'verse I want.

Won't lie, I've thought about reworking all of them for other stuff, but haven't decided for sure. I'll see where my whims take me.

Suddenly remembered a mystery I don't think we got an answer to: why'd Inias fall? I vaguely remember u saying that he doesn't regret it but that's all :')

Inias Fell because he murdered the angel who mentally violated him and broke the purity of his soul.

Unfortunately, it's been long enough I don't remember why that angel attacked him, like what his motivation was, but I remember he was Inias' peer and it was related to that.

Ah, right. Well, MC was a Psychic Dragon. Though their powers manifested more strongly before their transition to humanity, in the form of telepathy, MC still retained an innate empathy to understand what others were feeling and an ability to see into one's mind with permission.

That's how Zenos was going to inform them of the circumstances of his former employment (as well as MC's own circumstances) by letting them see for themself what happened back then. It was also going to be a major point for a chapter, with the chosen RO allowing MC to experience significant moments of said RO's past through their eyes. Which, you can imagine, would've been rough with some of those pasts.
