I'm very happy to share that my new pattern, Tiptoe Through Tulips, is now available on Ravelry! This pattern was designed for Amazing Threads for the Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop. The theme this year was In The Garden and the shop theme was tulips!
This pattern uses 320 yards of sport weight yarn and a 4mm hook. The pattern was designed for the custom color way from Sea Change Fibers that the store commissioned. There are video tutorials and charts alongside a written pattern. The pattern is also screen reader accessible.
From now until 4/13/25, if you use the code tulip, you'll get the pattern for free.

I have a new paid pattern in my shops today! The Illuminations Cowl uses bulky weight yarn and an 8mm hook to make a nice chunky cowl that works up super fast. This is perfect for an adventurous beginner/intermediate crocheter. There are video tutorials linked for any complicated techniques and alternative ways of doing those methods. You can find the pattern in the following places: Ravelry, Ribblr, and my shop PS: There is currently a pattern sale going on through Ravelry and Ribblr if you want to get this at a discount ;)

Pattern Tester Call!
Hello! I am currently looking to rebuild my pattern testing team. I have opened applications and I already have one pattern ready to be tested. If you are interested, you can apply here.
Tumblr media
This is the current pattern needing testing, but my goal is to have a dedicated team. One of the requirements is that you need to be willing to use Discord for communication.

Hello! I'm working on a large undertaking of a pattern writing and I have a question for people who buy crochet patterns!
If I was to list a pattern at $5 instead of my normal $2.50, would you be put off by that? For reference, this pattern will be for an 18 inch tall doll and a ton of accessories. Currently, while I'm tech editing it, it sits at 10 pages and I have more accessories to write patterns for and the pattern will also have video and pictures for different steps.

New pattern in my shop! I was tasked with trying to come up with something Jack and the Beanstalk related for the Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop. This is what I came up with and I'm super excited to share it! You can pick up the pattern on Ravelry! Please note this is a paid pattern, but if you use the code BEANSTALK you might get a bit of a surprise ;) There is also a video on how to do the pattern linked in the pattern!

I am looking for pattern testers! This is part of my restructuring of how I test patterns and would be a one time gig! This is for a triangle scarf that works up super fast. Details: You would need 400 yards of fingering weight yarn and a 3mm hook. Final pictures would be due on 4/1/24 and the pattern will release publicly on 4/15/24. Because of the nature of this pattern, pictures of the final item cannot be revealed until the 15th of April. This pattern is good for an adventurous beginner and a video tutorial of the stitches is included. If you are interested, shoot me an email at hookinghijinks (at) gmail (dot) com.

I'm happy to announce a new service I'm offering through my shop starting today! I am offering both an eight hour learn to crochet course over Zoom, as well as one on one coaching sessions for people who already know how to crochet. The details are on the ko-fi store on how to purchase this time and what it entails. I have tried to keep the prices fair and along the same price structure I get paid for my in-person classes. If you are located in the Twin Cities (Minnesota) area, I will kindly ask that you check out Amazing Threads for in-person coaching!

Etsy Shoppers: Were you scammed into overpaying for an item you thought was handmade, only to have it arrive with an obvious "Made in" tag?

Stitch markers will help this. Place one every 10 or 20 stitches and then all you have to count back is to the last stitch marker. Tally up how many you have and do the math from there. It's way easier and helps reduce feeling like you have to count 100+ stitches again. It's easier to just count 10 or 20.

Feels like it! 🤣😭🤣 @slippedstitch

Happy Granny Square Day! Granny squares are the foundation of crochet and an integral part of the craft and today is a day to celebrate them! The yarn used was some scraps and I did this with no pattern. That being said, I did write down what I did so if people want it as a pattern, I can put it out there! Enjoy making your squares!
