senior year, but music
Senior year has a lot to offer, but it also gives me a lot to think about. While we grow up and get out in the world, we have to make sure that we aren't taking it for granted. These songs entangle all the feelings I have about the upcoming year, but adds a catchy beat to them.

It’s finally summer and I have finished junior year. I definitely didn’t pass with flying colors, but we made it. Freedom alas. As I’m driving down to LaGrange, Georgia for my first camp of the summer, I turn on my good moods playlist as I always do when I’m in the mood to belt my soul out to the roads ahead of me, literally and figuratively. Listening to all my old favorites and some current ones, every lyric is seeming to relate to the biggest event in my life thus far, senior year. Becoming more independent than ever, making big, important, impactful decisions, and making the most of the year of have left in the town I’ve grown up in since I was a little girl. Music always seems to fill me with thoughts and emotions All I could think about was how in the next 12 months I am going to be making some of the most important decisions in my life thus far, but at the same time I should be living in the moment and taking it for what it’s worth, which is a lot for a 17 year old girl (who, might I add, can barely make microwaveable mac and cheese) to grasp. Music has always been something I turned to when a big time in my life is upon me. It always seems to be the calm in the eye of the storm. It can take your jumbled up thoughts and perfectly arrange them into meaningful words. Soon enough I am going to decide my future, trying as hard as I can to make that decision based upon my own desires and not those around me, but also not get too tangled up in the stress of the future ahead of me and enjoy every little thing senior year has to offer me. Natasha Bedingfield telling us to “live our lives with arms wide open”, Beyoncé reminding us to leave our mark on the world (or in this case our communities), Trace Adkins putting tears into your eyes reminding you how much “you’re going to wish these days hadn’t gone by so fast” helps me remember that I have big things ahead of me and my options are endless and the memories I will make in the next year, will be memories that last me a lifetime. Senior year is a big year for the future and its plans, but I refuse to let it pass me by as quickly as I know it will. “Today is where your book begins. The rest is still unwritten”
