something wet hits the top of the stranger's head.

the horangi peers down from the ledge he is resting on, the perfect spot to warm his fur and stripes. and, of course, like most cats do when they're excited: they drool.

this is a newcomer. his smell is off, wrong. like it doesn't belong here. that said, the large feline flicks his tail and hops down from his perch to closer insect this newcomer, going so far as to bump his large head against the stranger's legs.

a low groan of sorts escapes him, questioning.

Odd. This doesn’t look like his homeland of Natlan as everything was metallic, a more modern setting? Hmm, this was a new experience for the youth who wished to be stronger.

Mausau glances around before dusting off his clothes upon ending up here, he needs to find clues but for some reason, he couldn’t shake off the feeling of being watched.

He makes sure to stay alert, moving in careful steps.

he yawns, tusked maw stretching wide. the horangi rolls over onto his back, stretching his paws straight up in the air. through this process, his eyes never open but-

something flops oh so gracefully down on his fluffy tummy. only then does he crack a large eye open. the purple haired one has decided he will make a good sleeping spot. drool already creeps at the corner of her lips.

his nostrils flare a little, just a little, in amusement. his arms wrap around her, holding her close as he drifts back to sleep.

he hardly flinches, or even moves a muscle at that matter. he's used to this, the hugging. the affection and the attention. but that doesn't mean he does not revel in it.

he vocally expresses his delight at the squeezing pressure around his thick neck. the singer's fingers scratch at a sweet spot around his chin. the reaction is instant.

his leg starts kicking like a dog.

this one has a powerful voice.

it is a thing that is almost as sacred as him. a voice that unites and protects in a manner similar to his own purpose. it is sweet, soothing as she runs her fingers through the fur between his ears and blesses him with a lullaby.

his lids grow heavy, a deep rumbling purr rippling through his being.

and he sleeps. sleeps next to the one who will change the world.

it's like something out of a silly youtube video. a demon, who looks human, holding the massive front paws of the tiger in his hands while some song they both probably don't really know plays in the background.

he's standing on his hindlegs, like he too could be a person. shimmy to the left, shake to the right. they have a rhythm going. he blinks slowly, one eye before the other. just trying to keep up with the movements of his fellow inhuman.

he hardly blinks as a finger touches his moist nose in a soft boop. if anything, it is an endearing gesture. a sign of respect...well, maybe not quite, but it is something that conveys a playful sense of kinship in his mind.

he turns his head up, regarding the kusuriuri with a hint of curiosity.

this being carries a similar aura of his own. something powerful and celestial but it isn't an exact match. none the less, it deserves his own admiration and respect.

so the feline purrs, bumping his head against the medicine seller's legs.

okAY so....

I think I'm gonna do mains/exclusives/affiliates for the first time in my life. I really want to focus on some muses that I can really tie into my Derpy and Sussie's lore and expand upon the mythos I'm creating. I'll be taking at least one of each character just to keep my sanity lowkey intact.

I will be prioritizing threads and asks with these individuals, but will still engage with any mutuals I have.

the demon's club never makes contact with you.

by all means, it should have come down upon you and shattered your skull but the massive paw, almost the size of the demon itself, intervenes. it smacks the dark spirit to the side then presses it down against the pavement. a frightening strength leaves cracks in the hardened tar.

the tiger is there, but he doesn't look like how he usually does. he is bigger now. at least three times his usual size. his fur moves like fire, and burns like it too. an extra pair of smaller eyes sits above his bulging ones. his fangs have grown, swords extending out of his monstrous maw.

he looks looks fearsome. sacred. the celestial guardian he truly is.

his claws unsheathe, burning bright white as he slices through the demon with ease. it reduces to black and red smoke that dissipates easily in the air.

then he looks at you.

"괜찮아요?"

the tiger slow blinks up at the kumiho in response to his growl. and then, the faintest twitch of furry lips, as if the large cat is smiling at him.

"i go where i please."

a pause.

"no one will believe you."

aaaaand he's gone.

SO. i have some new notes on my derpy.

derpy plays the part of a silly little guy well, and he IS. but underneath those cross eyes is a functioning brain. he is a celestial honragi and guardian spirit. he watches over jinu's soul because it still has purity and boy howdy, does that boy need someone to watch over him.

derpy can shapeshift to a more humanoid form if need be, and he can even speak when the need arises. his true form is a much more fearsome looking beast than his cute and cuddly self, but that only shows its fanged face when he has to slay an impure spirit.

the only one aware of derpy's true nature is sussie, who serves as his herald and messenger.

the tiger purrs.

he's fond of this one. she is half light and half dark. special, so very special. she is not the one that is his, but he feels a protectiveness for her all the same. if anything should come to harm her, be it a dark dreams that plague her sleep or the claws and talons of the shadows beneath the honmoon.

he will defend. he will protect.

he sniffs her hand, looking for treats. then nuzzles his nose against her palm.

one day, maybe, she'll learn what he truly is.

he's older than most things that lurk in this place. it is an unholy place, not fit for something as sacred as he. but he does not care. for there are ones that need him here.

he slinks forward in awkward, puppet-like movements until he finds his target.

and bunts his head gently against his legs.
