And so Beastars (manga) comes to an end. I thought it was a decent resolution for Legosi and Haru under the circumstances, glad to see Louis cultivating a good relationship with his wife, and I think it's hilarious that Yahya retired and moved in with the 500 Cornered Rats and that they all became vigilantes together. I do wish there had been more of Gosha though.

I mean, sure, but actually they’re getting married, so it’s interesting that Sensei rather concluded on what’s above. 

I was quite puzzled at first, but now I can think of two reasons: the first one, Legosi and Haru don’t have to tell random police animals that they’re getting married, since it’s their private life and all. 

The second reason (which I enjoy way more) is that, after everything that’s been going on in the last arc (getting rid of the back alley market, dynamics between carnivores and herbivores changing, etc) and even in their relationship, for Haru in particular to admit out lout and to complete strangers that they’re dating is a huge step ahead. 

I mean, remember this?

Haru was so angry at that fake rabbit/lion relationship who wanted to look good, because for a long time she saw her relationship with Legosi as nothing but “very complicated”. So I’m glad that Haru can now laugh together with Legosi about their relationship. It feels like proper and fulfilling development. <3

Yes, I agree on this. I mean, I’m as sad as everyone that Louis and Juno didn’t get to even have a chance together and, as such, we’re all free to imagine that maybe, in a few years, it will still happen (because I honestly think Juno is right and a fangless kiss won’t ever be enough for him). 

However, I believe that it’s also an end that makes sense, considering Louis’ development throughout the series: 

For all his years at Cherryton Academy, he was the best on stage, the star of the drama club. He slept with Haru all the while trying to forget about what was awaiting him after high school (inheriting his father’s position). Haru’s abduction gave him a way out, he became the head of the Shishigumi, tried to reject his father, came back, left again, only to reconcile with his dad when he died. 

So overall... just like he left the stage at Cherryton Academy, this time he made a choice, between leaving behind what his father once bought him for and accepting all of it. 

The thing is, it was certainly not an easy choice for him, but eventually he got to make some changes for society thanks to the Horns’ Conglomerate, so now he has to bear the responsibilities that come with it. 

He said it himself, it’s a political marriage (unlike Haru and Legosi), but I’m glad Sensei shows him and Azuki trying to make it work out a little.

I’m glad too! For a moment there, it seemed as if the Beastar position was too much to handle and Yahya regretted having to shoulder it on his own.

But it’s not the case: just like Gosha found happiness by choosing his family over the Beastar position, Yahya is really meant to protect society along with that giant group of rats that’s been with him for a long time, haha. 

As for Gosha, I’m guessing he just keeps on living his life: working, helping kids, seeing Legosi, having dinner with Gosha, probably meeting Haru’s parents at some point, etc. :) Gosha was just out there trying to protect his grandson, so now that Legosi is done saving society, Gosha can rest. :))

Finally, it’s just too bad we didn’t get to see what happened to Kyuu at the end (did she tell Gouhin about her feelings, did she even go and work with him?). She’s one example making me think that the last arc ever since her introduction (approximately) has been handled with difficulty by Sensei. 

It’s natural that writers change their mind and their story’s course as they’re writing though but, while I think Paru-sensei did quite an amazing job for her first big project, we have to admit that some parts of the last arc proved to be kinda useless (Kyuu and what she taught Legosi, then betraying him; Melon meeting with Haru, etc). 

The ending turned out to make a lot of sense for most of the cast though, so it works for me!
