Apparently it's a smosgaboard of characters in their '8 years later' design.

Except for the Villains. (Well, the ones who did not grovel for the light and redeemed themselves by fighting in the war for the Heroes.)

The League is there, on the left side, all unaged. Makes sense for the ones who are dead. But Spinner or Compress, who lived, they are not considered part of this future that everyone else is. No 8-years-later design for them. Why would you? That would be so depressing.

My first thought was actually that Spinner and Compress were dead too - execution? health? taking their own life? - so they get to be unaging.

The villains are just SO inconvenient for the ending the story wants. Because this is a world, 8 years later, that needs no villains, wants no reminder of them, and wishes they stay in the past.

(…despite the themes of saving. Get saved, dies. Don't get saved, you live… but I guess you never get a chance to be saved again. And so you're in tartarus 2.0 never to come out)

I like Mon-chan, but something was bugging me about the dog when this image first came out. And I realized, oh! Because it means it's okay! Shigaraki gets Mon-chan back. The rest of it don't matter. Easy shortcut to make readers think 'happy end'/'what if!' and add some levity to the Villains' end—8 years later when they're either all dead for years, or not worth considering alive and changed and aged in this new, better society.

Hey you guys ever think about what the fuck happened to Touya on the street that caused him to end up as distant, harsh, and cynical as he is as Dabi? I think he developed the Dabi persona (see: split the alter Dabi, bc Touya 100% has DiD) to protect himself bc Touya, especially post-coma Touya, was so very vulnerable, the streets were probably awful to him.

It's just such a drastic change. Touya was scared and confused, full of shame and apologetic (immediately justifying Enji not showing up, talking about how he needed to apologize to his Mom and family, wandering the city streets at night for hours and hours covered in wounds and just coming out of a coma, probably incredibly sore and exhausted just to get home). He was so sweet and sad. Then we have Dabi, who's withdrawn and cold and collected with this harsh and borderline aggressive attitude, immediately insulting a known villain to his face. Even his vocabulary and demeanor and the way he holds himself changed. It's such a jump, the time on his own must have really, really hardened him. He had to become like that to survive, and it's just so sad bc truly, like... Touya was a really sweet kid, he just had a lot of mental and emotional problems and so much trauma with no support, if somebody had reached out or helped him things could've really been different :((
