My darling best friend has been working on this lovely piece over the past few weeks just as a little gift for me since she was in the drawing mood. He doesn't have an art account sadly but he very graciously let me upload it over here so you guys could all enjoy it to! If he does ever create a tumblr account I will of course mention him but for now he wants to remain anonymous :)

This is him in some more northern Alerian style clothes as he spent some time up there when he was younger working with the Alerian military.

Also just a small reminder this is not the official Mycha art I will eventually be commissioning so it may differ slightly but I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do!

Chapter one major edit! (30/06/2025)

Hi everyone! I just wanted to come on here and say that I finally went back through the whole of chapter one and fixed all of the awkward phrasing and tense shifting. This will hopefully make it easier for new readers to get into the story and make it less annoying for you guys if you replay it. In chapter two and three I had pretty much gotten into the flow of writing so luckily I don't have to go back and edit those as well. 😭

Writing Update 08/06/2025

HI EVERYONE I'M BACK

I've literally been itching to write for the past month but I held myself back because I knew that I should try to enjoy my break (well as much as I could enjoy it with how much revision I've been doing 😭)

Hubris chapter four is now officially underway and ugh this chapter is going to be so fun to write I can't wait for some very certain scenes!!!

Weekly writing updates will be restarting for my darling patrons once again every Friday and don't worry I won't forget to occasionally update you guys over here as well 😉

It feels weird that it's almost been a whole year since I first published chapter one. Hopefully I will be able to get chapters out slightly quicker since school isn't going to take up as much time now.

While I've been away I've also thought of another book (maybe series) that I want to write but don't worry it'll all be after I'm done with everything Hubris related. Also after I've written the main story, I really want to write a book on Valentine before the whole 'put into a magical sleep for 800 years' thing happened.

I'm going on holiday in about a week and half but I'm going to bring my laptop with me because I just know I'll go crazy if I don't. 😭

See you guys once I've made some progress on chapter four!

Writing update 05/05/2025

Hi everyone! I'm just putting out a general message to say I'm going to be going on a break until about late July so I can focus on my exams. I will be coming back though so don't worry :)

I may write occasionally in between now and then if I need a break from revising but it won't be official so I'll also be pausing all my patrons subscriptions until I come back. I'll still be online every now and again so if there's any issues in coding I will of course fix those or if you guys have any asks.

I've also been working on improving the look of the itch.io page and possibly adding a character page onto my tumblr blog page.

The art I commissioned for Tino is now up on my Patreon and I'll be publicly releasing it once both the female and male ones are complete/when I release chapter 4. Unfortunately I can't say who they are just yet because my commission is on their Fiverr profile but don't worry, all of their credits will be released with the art and their credits are on my Patreon. 😭

My friend is currently making some fan art for Mycha so if he gives me permission I'll be posting it on here for you guys!

Hey, I don't know if anyone has reported this yet, but there's a problem with the pronouns, I selected They/Them, but as the game goes he/him keeps being used instead 😅

Chapter Three- The Great Capital

Minutes dragged by as you waited for any kind of movement. The cold metal of the cheekpiece stung your face, distracting you from surveying the clearing. You would see a flicker of movement in the nearby bushes now and again but nothing to suggest anything larger than a fox.  You were starting to wish you had never given away your cloak to that witch when you eventually spotted a grey blur emerge from the thick treeline that surrounded the clearing.  Kane noticed it too as she moved behind your shoulder with a muttered,” Finally.” Flicking off the safety, you closed one eye, trying to gather an image through the rear sight. As it prowled over, you could at least identify it was definitely a wolf. Its coat was a light grey, flecked with white. Thankfully Kane’s runes worked, the great beast paid no attention to either of you. “Aim for its eye. Hopefully, the skull can stop the bolt from penetrating all the way through and puncturing the pelt,” Kane murmured, her voice low. Probably the most advice she had given you in a year. The wolf stopped just before the venison, bending its head to sniff at it, its snout twitching slightly. Adjusting your position, you angled the crossbow so the rear sight gave you a perfect view of the wolf’s head. As if sensing your presence, the animal's head snapped up. Its green eyes bored into yours. “Now."

Writing update 2/4/2025

HI GUYS

Just wanted to put a writing update on here because I went back to check how many posts I have made this year I realised I haven't made a writing update since January (jeez).

Chapter 3 is officially in the home stretch as I am currently writing the final scene. Considering that chapter 3 is slightly longer than chapter 1 I'm honestly surprised it took me so long to write. 2024 me cranking out Chapter 2 in 4 months was a beast.

I know I've been pretty vague about what's happening in chapter 3 so if you guys have any burning questions about it feel free to ask!

I'm also soon going to be commissioning portraits for male and female Valentine which my darling patreons get to see first since they helped me raise the money towards them. But fear not! You guys will get to see them probably around the time I start development of Chapter 4 in around August/September time.

The release dates for Chapter 3 will be going out soon so make sure to keep your eyes pealed!
