just as a casual fyi: fic writers and fanartists are members of your community. they're not amorphous blobs who disappear the second they post something to the internet. criticism of media made for profit is generally acceptable because that's someone's livelihood. they entered a career that inherently opens themselves up to criticism, and where presumably they're trying to grow as a creator. fic writers and fanartists for the most part, are hobbyists. they're your friends and neighbors and coworkers who got really invested into a piece of media and were inspired to make something because of it. Your access to those pieces is not a right. mistreating people because the art or the fic that they make is not up to your standards is cruel and against norms in fandom spaces for a very good reason.

Fics and art are not there for you to make fun of and belittle and criticize, and treating them like that is a deliberate act of disrespect towards a community that is supposed to be a safe space for people to have fun.
