WHAT is HaPpEnINg?!?!
You know how they say Monday’s suck?! WELL yes, yes they do! Well this past Monday Harper had a VERY WICKED SUCKY MONDAY! She had the “crash” ( No no, not her car, or bicycle, or foot petal car) but her PLATELETS! She dropped in less than a week from 97 to 15. FIFTEEN ... the big ONE-FIVE.
WHHHATTT, HOW?!?!?!
Well unfortunately it’s the rough journey Harper’s body is going to take. It is going to go down, to rock bottom, until it goes UP to the top of the mountain. When Harper woke up on Monday, Kim and Jeff noticed her body COVERED in bruises ( big and small). Now yes she is a clumsy 4 yr old but this was different. Kim rushed Harper to the hospital right away! She did the right thing! Doctors said Harper’s labs all crashed. Do they know why?! Absolutely NOT. All they, or anyone, can really say is “ It’s just how her body is reacting”.
Right now Harper’s body is like a computer. And well you know when you're at work on a Monday morning and your computer is being very VERY annoying and you try all things and you just give up and hold that small power button down ( you know the one with the annoying blue light that taunts you all day knowing its not working for you). You just hold it down until the screen goes black and you can’t hear the tower in the back anymore sounding like its taking off to a vacation get away. WELLS THATS WHAT HARPER’S BODY IS DOING RIGHT NOW!! The chemo is that annoying button that the doctors have to hold down until her body decides to stop sounding like its taking off for air.
ANYWAYS!!!
Harper had her last dose of chemo on Thursday for this round meaning.... IT’S BONE MARROW TIME!!!!
On March 12 Harper will be going in for her next bone marrow... like last time, the same exact procedure. It will tell us if Harper’s leukemia is still being a pain in the BUM and lingering around OR if she is in REMISSION ( bye cancer).
NOW ALOT goes into this. Even though it is scheduled it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a definite! On Thursday Harper had to receive platelets and blood since her labs are just to low.. on Tuesday her ANC needs to be at 750, they were at 100 on Thursday. Her labs ( some not all) need to increase as well. IF not then they will have to postpone her bone marrow for another week. NO NO NO they can’t give her ANYTHING to help raise her labs. No vitamins, special smoothies, magic beans, nothing. Her body needs to do it all on it’s own!
SO now I leave you with this... Please take a minute to pray,meditate, silent thought, write a note, what ever it is you do for Harper Jane. This little girl has been through ENOUGH. She is done being defined and trapped in this disease. Keep Harper in your thoughts that she gets this bone marrow and her results are REMISSION!!!!!
