Getting to Know You

I've been talking to @hulloitsdani a lot, behind the scenes! We put Kiran and Moe in some situations. Introduced them like cats. Moe was Moe about it, for a while. Kiran was Kiran about it. Oh? Oh! Oh, they're friends, now........ 🥺🥲 I wonder what's in store for them! 😊 :D

I sketched this out, to figure out Kiran's outfit underneath the robes. And just...... kept going. As it turns out, Kiran and Moe are on similar levels of "What the FUCK are you WEARING????? AND HOW ARE YOU MAKING IT WORK⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️"

You know, I feel like in most cases, Kiran would be more polite. However. The height comparison is killing me (and it's killing Kiran, and it's killing Moe, who just might have to kill Kiran about it)

Moe is canonically in my heart always 5'3, but I do operate on Steven Universe scaling rules if I'm entirely honest with you. Kiran is estimated to be around 6 foot.

Kiran color tests!!! These two are from my initial concept sketches.

The full body is me trying to figure out how all the layers fall, and. Getting an idea of Where they actually Are, under all that LMFAO. Also! The crown! The crown pattern is important. I took my own liberties on that! It gives them such an elegant vibe... I feel like I could push this further, but! For now! I'm focusing on the core design elements!

The face close up was just eye practice, that became shadow concept practice, all free hand! I have a concept of the shadow ranging in saturation and gradients, depending on the situation. Also, ourple...... because I fear they would get completely lost if I stylized the shadow blue, like Moe's. And! I think it compliments their tone, actually.

And! Thumb for scale. Here, we see they wear white chunky earrings! This was practice for The Burt comic, specifically. Which is why it's so tiny scale. Remembering how to ink tiny, again (scary... 🧍). I am such a fan of how well this one small touch to the earrings makes them Feel like Kiran, though, even without the hood!!!!! Impressive!!!!!! It's a really nice touch!!!
