Solar does not think before he posts

Solar just got done working out, and decided he’s gonna post about how he’s going to switch to a leaner diet. He accidentally scares the shit out of Sun and Moon.

I’ve had this headcanon that he wears gloves to cover up cutting scars (and also for sensory reasons), and I almost texted a friend being like “I’m about to cut for the next few months” before being like. Wait a goddamn minute. That’s gonna sound really bad if I don’t clarify it’s a gym thing. So viola.

Fun fact about yesterday's thumbnail

I drew this

as a (sort of) sequel to my very first thumbnail

Which was for the episode where Sun and Moon reunited, and where Moon first made that promise to Sun. There was a lot of thought that went into the body language and expressions for both thumbnails (mainly for Sun lol)

Ramblings under the cut:

EXPRESSIONS

Sun's expression in yesterday's thumbnail is a direct callback to the first one. I REALLY wanted to highlight Sun's conflicted feelings towards Moon. To do that I basically gave him two different expressions at once

One side of his face is angry. Moon's hurt him and betrayed his trust multiple times. He can't forgive Moon like he has in the past

But then the other half is sad. In the first one it was due to getting Moon back so soon after Nexus left. In the second one, it's because part of Sun wants to forgive Moon. He knows that Moon unlocking his emotions is a HUGE thing for him. Sun still loves Moon.... but he just can't forgive him. Not until Moon can rebuild Sun's trust

BODY LANGUAGE

Sun in the first thumbnail has his arms crossed in a way that makes it look like he's hugging himself. It's both to indicate to Moon that he won't let things go back to how they were, while the "self-hug" visually conveys his fears that Moon might go back to how he was anyway (boy, that sure aged well, didn't it? :)) )

Despite that, he's still facing Moon, showing that despite his worries, he's still willing to give Moon another chance

Here though? He's tired. He's done letting Moon in, only to get hurt by him again, so he's turning away from him

And yet, even now, Sun still hasn't fully turned his back on Moon. He's looking at Moon, showing that even if he doesn't trust or believe Moon's words, he'll still give him a chance to prove he meant what he said through his actions

I don't have much to say about Moon, other than how he acts in both thumbnails shows how much he really has grown and changed since he came back

It causes horn-like tumors to form, which can bear a resemblance to antlers.

Moments before disaster.

No sound since I forgot what the sound was </3

what theyre saying/whats happening↓

"It'll be nothing serious." Eclipse shrugs, crossing his arms.

His main eyes remain fixed on Moon, but his second set is on Sun who swung his legs as Moon carried him with only one hand—was that safe? Eclipse did not know; he wasnt a Daycare Attendant, so he could only assume Moon knew what he was doing.

It was a last minute request on asking if Sun could stay over at the EAPS dimension for a bit so Eclipse could run some diagnostic checks, hopefully being able to find out how to turn Sun back to normal. Moon didnt appear reluctant at the request, not even asking if he could stay as well. In fact, this was the most Moon looked relax, especially around Eclipse and in an unfamiliar dimension.

Maybe Eclipse is gaining Moon's trust. Although, both were in denial of it.

"Alright..." Moon nods, although it was light but not hesitant. "I suppose checkups on his systems wouldnt be too bad, especially since its different from before."

"Youve checked?"

"Tried to. Its gotten... complicated. Some parts got compressed while other disappeared. Did you map it out already?"

"Hes been with me for a good few weeks. Of course I have."

"Fair enough..." Sighed Moon.

Looking down on his now very much younger twin, Moon couldnt help but smile. He lifted Sun close, pressing his cheek onto Sun's forehead, making the younger one giggle.

"Just keep this little troublemaker safe for me, Eclipse. Thats all I ask." He would coo before his mouth forms a thin smile.

Sun lightly creates some distance between him and Moon in his laughing fit, making both older animatronics reach out just in case he would fall.

And Sun kept laughing.

It sounded more like a squeak in some parts—he is squeaking for the most part. It was his usual laugh but more pitched paired with a squeak each time he would hic—at least, produce a sound similar to a hic.

Its a miracle his voicebox hadnt overheated.

With his big, milky white eyes, Sun looks up at Moon with a toothy grin before he pulls his older brother into a tight hug.

Its been a while since Moon has hugged Sun even prior this event. So, with gentle movements, Moon wraps his other hand on Sun's body in an effort to embrace him. Leaning their heads closer, Moon can feel Sun's soft, petal-like rays against his colder metal. He wonder if Sun is bothered by it, but the young bot doesnt appear to mind—he even leaned closer, hugging Moon more tightly.

"Alright..." Eclipse extends his hand, offering to hold Sun. "Enough of this. Lets get going, Sunrise."

"Ah, right." Moon's smile softens. "You two get with the chekcup. I'll pick Sun up tomorrow. Keep him safe for me, Eclipse."

"He'll be fine. I promise."
