Color vibe radio show reflection
Being on a radio show was lots of fun and a great experience. None of us really gave each other rolls though. I guess my roll was to keep everyone on track and generate more ideas. I came up with a lot of our color related content and did my best to keep the others focused and in discussion about the topics. Our show did get a little out of hand at times and off topic. I think we should have done more planning before hand. I think we all had fun during the show though. I also want to mention that the energy of our show could have been more lively and upbeat. Towards the end some of us were getting tired and the energy just dropped. So overall a good and fun experience but we could have done much better and tried a bit harder.

Color vibe radio show process reflection
Putting together the radio show throughout the week was tough. Our theme was color and we definitely had a hard time coming up with different segments. Although it was hard we had lots of fun listening to each other and talking about things color and non color related. We could have done a better job planning things out and giving our show some structure though. I think the hardest part for our group was staying focused on our theme.

Our collection is about identity, emotion and personality. We chose to place our collection in Nevins Theater. When actors are on stage they put on many different identities, personalities and emotions. I included two masks for this piece to allow the person participating in the dérive to change their identity and emotion.

Dérive map The experience of the dérive I went on was slow, calm and a little bit cold. There aren’t many places in Alfred that I haven’t been to so I chose one of the restaurants on Main Street. It was late so only myself and three other people were in the shop at the time. It was very quiet in the shop but the walk there wasn’t as quiet. I passed many people on the way there and back. There were also many cars passing by on Main Street. It was very simple and calming to walk around and explore a new space without thinking about it too much. Making a map of the dérive was pretty difficult. It’s a challenge to think of everywhere you walked and write it down without words. It’s definitely hard to think of the locations of things in relation to each other and make it look right in the form of a map. My map is definitely not accurate but I tried! 😂 Drawing something from memory is not an easy task.
