Okay so I was attending dashcon 2, and I was with three of my friends (no we're just friends, they don't smoke weed), and because it was just june some of us were wearing pride flags, but because it was just the fourth of july my straight friend was wearing their cis pride american alpha male shirt. And a little conversation happened. Person wearing bus cosplay and canadian flag pin: HEY!!!! why're you cis.

Their friend behind them: Oh my god Karen you can't just ask why people are cis..

My other friend, wearing a gay pride pin: I'm a 128 year old gay man, and johnlock anti, whyre you harrasing this child let is your WARM MILK!!!!! Karen in bus, pulling out baseball bat spray painted to say down with cis: DIE!!!!

Karen's mom, appearing from behind the life sized tartis recreation in the other aisle: sweaty pumpkin munch stop bullying Them, and I'm cis and hate johnlock. the thing about terms like transmasc and transfem that I love so much but I also feel we've sadly forgotten is just how broad they are. it doesn't inherently imply an agab, it doesn't inherently imply that they're binary, it doesn't even really inherently imply a gender at all. someone who's transfeminine is just transitioning to look more feminine than they used to be. that's all it really tells you. someone who's transmasc can be a trans man, they can be nonbinary, they can be butch, they can be afab or amab or intersex and so much else. but we've reduced that to "basically a trans man" and "basically a trans woman"

The crazy thing about being queer is you can come out at 12 and then by the time you're 17 you're basically a queer elder
