Growing up in a prestigious family from the Scalding Sands, Ijaya was raised in luxury. Without a care in the world, she never felt guilt or empathy towards anyone. This caused her to be ignorant, bratty and condescending. Until the day she notices the little Jamil working tirelessly as Kalim’s servant.

She was gifted a set of a necklace and bracelet from Kalim during childhood with their initials and the Iranian word for friendship.

She pays homage to her childhood crush, Jamil by wearing a similar snake bracelet.
