Haikyuu SickFic.
Warning!!
Sick : Hinata
Caregiver : Kageyama
Warning, mention of death, self harm, sickness, hospitals, depression.
×
In a world in which Kageyama imagined a life without Hinata.
Hinata has been in and out of hospital with a rare illness that is slowly killing him, Kageyama visits him every day.
The volleyball team will also occasionally visit when Hinata has some good or bad news come his way, but in the end, Kageyama is always there every day.
Hinata begs for Kageyama to go home and have a break, but Kageyama refuses to leave his smaller boyfriends side.
" Kageyama, please go home. It's getting late. "
" No, I won't leave your side. "
Kageyama retorted, crossing his arms as he looked at the orange haired boy that was hooked up to so many monitors.
It pained Kageyama to see Hinata in such a state. Kageyama only wished for Hinata to get better, but the doctors didn't have high hopes.
At about 3am Kageyama had drifted off to sleep.
When Kageyama woke up, Hinata's monitors were going crazy and the doctors rushed in the room, hurrying Kageyama out of the way so they could start helping Hinata.
After what felt like 2 painful long hours, the doctor came out of the room with a sorrowful look on his face.
Kageyama's whole world stopped in that moment as the doctor told him that Hinata didn't make it.
Kageyama was frozen, tears pricking at the sides of his eyes as he refused to believe the doctors words.
" N-No... "
Kageyama rushed into the room. He saw Hinata laying lifeless on the hospital bed. The monitors had been turned off. It was silent.
Kageyama stared at Hinata's lifeless body as he watched the nurses place a cloth over the dead body.
Hours had passed, and Kageyama was still standing in the room.
The doctors had called Daichi and Sugawara to come and pick up Kageyama.
" Tobio? Come on, Tobio, you need to leave. "
Sugawara said softly. Kageyama looked at the two upperclassmen who came to take him away.
" But.... Hinata. "
Kageyama said.
" Tobio, come on.. the team is all waiting outside. We are going to make a shrine. "
Daichi said with a gentle smile.
Kageyama stumbled, his legs trembling. Daichi and Suga both took hold of one of Kageyama's arms to help keep him steady.
" It's okay, Tobio.. "
Suga said, comforting the first year setter.
Suga and Daichi helped Kageyama walk outside where the whole volleyball team was waiting, including Hinata's mother and little sister Natsu.
Only now realisation hit Kageyama. Kageyama's eyes filled with tears as they poured down his face.
Kageyama screamed with such pain as his legs buckled beneath him, Daichi and Suga helped Kageyama to the floor gently.
" HINATA! "
Kageyama screamed.
The whole team's heart broke hearing those screams. Hinata's mother and Natsu were both crying and hugging each other.
Tanaka and Noya were silent. They didn't cry. They just stayed silent.
Yachi was holding onto Kiyoko, sobbing her eyes out while Kiyoko was holding back her tears.
Ennoshita, Kinoshita, and Narita all just looked away, feeling nothing but pain and sorrow.
Asahi was a sobbing mess, struggling to catch his breath as he clung onto Tanaka.
Tsukishima was silent, Tadashi was crying into Tsukishima's shoulder.
Coach Ukai was silent, Takeda was also very silent.
Everyone felt so much pain, and nobody knew what to say or do, other than stand there in silence while Kageyama screamed and cried.
After a few hours, Daichi and Suga took Kageyama home. They had all placed a shrine at the school where everyone placed flowers and pictures of Hinata.
Kageyama was broken. He was silent, his eyes dull without emotion.
" Kageyama, you should eat. "
Suga said as he helped Kageyama inside his home.
Kageyama shook his head, refusing to eat. Though he was starving.
" Please, Tobio, you need to eat. "
Kageyama glared at them.
" Just leave!! "
He yelled. His next stage of grief was pure anger. He just wanted to be left alone.
Daichi and Suga decided they should leave, Kageyama needed alone time and some space to process what had happened.
When they left, Kageyama started to throw shit all around the room.
" No!! This is fucking stupid! "
Kageyama yelled, making a mess in his house. When he had calmed down, he was in the bathroom with a razor blade. He started to make deep cuts into his arms.
" I can join him..."
Kageyama muttered softly to himself, hoping that maybe he could join Hinata in the afterlife.
But after many failed attempts of trying to cut deeper, he decided to just give up.
Days had passed, Kageyama hadn't left his room, he hadn't eaten or gone to school, he just wanted to give up on it all. What was the point of life without Hinata there?
Daichi knocked on the door.
" Kageyama? "
Kageyama came to the door and opened it, Kageyama was covered in sweat, his arms layered with bruised cuts, and he looked extremely pale.
" Oh Tobio... "
Sugawara said as he pulled the boy into a hug, Kageyama just accepted the hug. He couldn't be bothered to push away.
" W-why are you guys here? "
Daichi frowned.
" We came to check on you, you haven't been at school... and we were worried you hadn't eaten. "
Daichi said while holding up a bag with some of Kageyama's favourite pork buns from Ukai's shop.
" We brought you food. "
Kageyama nods.
" Thanks... "
" We'll let you be alone. "
Kageyama gripped onto Suga.
" No... don't leave me, please. "
Kageyama begged, his whole body trembling. He didn't want to be alone. He wanted the comfort of the older males who were like big brothers to him.
" Okay, we won't. "
Kageyama let them inside the house. The house was a total wreck, with glass shattered, pillows all over the place.
" You poor thing. We are sorry we didn't stay the first time. You clearly needed us. "
Suga said while playing with Kageyama's hair.
Kageyama nods.
" I'll... come back to school tomorrow, I promise. "
He said quietly.
" Oh, don't you worry about that. The school understands what you are going through. "
Daichi said.
After some comfort and company from Suga and Daichi, Kageyama was tired and ready to be alone again. Of course, Daichi and Suga made sure that Kageyama ate before they even thought about leaving.
The next day, Kageyama was walking to school. He still looked like a total wreck, Kageyama didn't watch where he was going, and all he heard was a car horn before it all went black.
Kageyama woke up in his bed. He was in a cold sweat, and the orange haired spiker was leaning above Kageyama with a concerned look on his face.
" Kageyama, are you okay? "
Hinata asked with worry. He had woken up when Kageyama was screaming and tried so many times to wake Kageyama up with no luck.
" H-Hinata...? Yo-You're alive? "
Kageyama asked as his voice faltered, tears stinging his eyes.
" Wh-what?! Of course I'm alive! "
Hinata said with a hint of shock and worry when he noticed Kageyama's tears.
Kageyama started to sob quietly, choking on his own saliva as he was lying on his back. Hinata helped Kageyama sit up and pat his back.
" Hey hey, it's okay... I'm not dead, Kageyama. I'm not even sick. "
Hinata said soothingly while rubbing Kageyama's back.
Kageyama's arms just wrapped around Hinata's body with a tight grip.
" Y-You died!! "
Kageyama sobbed, holding onto Hinata as if he would disappear if he let go.
" I'm right here... it was just a bad dream. Shhh.. "
Hinata reassured, holding Kageyama tight in his arms. They sat there cuddling for 20 minutes before Kageyama finally calmed down.
" It was such a bad dream..."
Kageyama said sadly.
Hinata nods.
" I know, I know love. "
Hinata comforted Kageyama and kept whispering, reassuring, and comforting words to him.
" I'm here, and I won't leave you. "
After a few more minutes, Kageyama had fallen asleep in Hinata's arms, embracing his warmth.

Haikyuu SickFic
Sick/Sad : Iwaizumi
Caregiver : Kageyama
Soft, wholesome, puking, overworking.
×
Iwaizumi was always picking up after other people, always cleaning up others' mess and troubles.
He never got a break for himself, never had any time to take care of his own needs.
" Hey Iwa-Chan! I need help! "
Oikawa called out to Iwaizumi. Iwaizumi sighed. He was in the middle of his own assignment when Oikawa called him. He dropped his pencil and groaned.
" Just give me a minute! "
Iwaizumi replied. He got up from his desk and went to Oikawa.
" What? "
" I need help with this question, please, Iwa! "
Iwaizumi sighed, and one another, every team member was asking for help from Iwaizumi. Iwaizumi was going back and forth, and by the time he got back to his own work, he was exhausted and fell asleep.
When Iwaizumi woke up, he had to rush his assignment and head to school to hand in the paper.
Iwaizumi, of course, did not get the high score that he wanted. Everyone else on his team did.
" Damn... "
Iwaizumi muttered under his breath, sighing in defeat as he scrunched up his paper.
" Screw this. "
Iwaizumi scoffed, throwing the paper away. Oikawa went to Iwa.
" Iwa! What did you get? "
" Go away, Oikawa, I'm not in the mood. "
Iwa said. Oikawa pouted.
" Don't be rude, Iwa! Come on. Time for practice. "
Kawa said, crossing his arms and scoffing at how rude Iwa was being.
" I'm not going to practice today. I'm going for a walk. "
Iwa said.
" You have to come!! "
Iwaizumi groans.
" Seriously?! Just give me some space, please! "
Iwa yelled at Kawa.
" Oh jeez, so rude. Don't worry about coming to practice. We don't need you. "
Kawa said, and he walked away.
Iwaizumi sighed as he decided to go for a long walk. He didn't even know where he was going. He just walked and walked.
He didn't realise he had walked to the Karasuno school district. He looked at the surroundings.
Kageyama was walking to his house when he noticed Iwaizumi was looking around almost lost.
" Iwaizumi? "
Kageyama questioned out loud. Iwaizumi looked at Kageyama.
" Kageyama? "
Iwaizumi questioned.
" Oh, hello, Kageyama. Jeez, I had no idea how far I walked. "
Iwaizumi said, sighing as he crossed his arms.
" Heh, what brings you here all alone? "
Kageyama asks.
" Oh... I just needed a break. Everyone was just... too much. I couldn't handle the stress. "
Iwaizumi said. Kageyama frowned.
" I'm sorry to hear that. "
" I failed an assignment! Everyone needed my help, and I failed! Because I had to rush!! "
Iwaizumi unloaded, and he sounded stressed out.
" Oh, Iwaizumi, I'm sorry. "
Kageyama placed a hand on Iwaizumi's shoulder.
" You should take a break for yourself. "
" But I can't, I have to help everyone... "
Iwaizumi muttered, Kageyama frowned.
" You don't, though. Iwaizumi, you need to take care of yourself. Have you ever had any time for yourself? "
Kageyama asked, holding Iwaizumi's hand.
" No.... anytime I'm sick, I won't bother taking care of myself... I just ignore the sickness. "
He says sadly, holding Kageyama's hand tightly.
" I just want someone to take care of me... y'know?? "
He said, inhaling a deep breath as he let go of Kageyama's hand.
" I should get back... goodbye, Kageyama. "
Kageyama nods.
" You have my number, just call me, okay? "
Iwaizumi nods, and he walks away.
A few months passed, and Iwaizumi did not listen. He kept helping everyone and not taking care of himself.
Iwaizumi woke up one morning feeling sweaty and horrid. They had a practice match with Karasuno today, but he couldn't take the day off.
Iwaizumi struggled out of his bed, and his stomach churned, Iwaizumi swallowed thickly as watery acid rose up his throat.
" Ngh.. "
Iwaizumi forced himself to get dressed and eat. Today wasn't a class day, just a practice day. An early practice match against Karasuno.
He struggled through the morning before he made his way to school by bus. His body was sweaty and warm, and his palms clammy, his mouth was dry as.
Iwaizumi arrived at the gym, already late for warm-ups.
" Where have you been, Iwaizumi?! Jeez, so late! "
Kawa complained. Iwaizumi had no strength to talk back or make any remarks. He just hobbled over to the team.
Karasuno is arriving very soon. The team had to do some more warm-ups, spiking, and serving drills.
" Iwaizumi, pick up the pace! You are so slow!! "
Kawa spat, Iwaizumi sighed, groaning as his body was covered in a layer of sweat.
The Karasuno Team arrived.
" Great King!! "
Hinata said cheerfully as he ran to Kawa and hugged him.
Iwaizumi wiped his head with a damp cloth. His breathing was ragged and shallow, Iwaizumi struggled to catch his breath as he gulped down a heap of water to coat his throat that was dry.
Iwaizumi immediately regretted gulping down that amount of water. He felt nauseous and sick. He could feel the watery liquid rising up his throat.
Iwaizumi quickly ran out of the gym. Nobody noticed except Kageyama. Kageyama noticed the pale greenish hue on Iwaizumi's face.
Kageyama followed Iwaizumi out of the gym, Iwaizumi was leaned over a bush, watery liquid spilled from his mouth.
Kageyama rushed over to Iwaizumi.
" Iwaizumi, oh gosh... "
Iwaizumi coughed wetly, his legs shaking as he struggled to keep himself upright. His legs were trying to hold all his upper body weight, and he was so weak.
Kageyama held Iwaizumi, trying to take some weight off of Iwaizumi.
" You're okay, I'm right here. "
Kageyama rubbed Iwaizumi's back, and Iwaizumi heaved up more liquid from his mouth, his stomach convulsing.
" Oh fuck... "
Iwaizumi muttered, he eventually got a break. They heard other team members come outside.
" Come on, Iwaizumi, let's get you to the bathroom. "
Kageyama said.
" Oi! Iwaizumi, come back inside! You have warm-ups to do! "
Kawa yelled.
Kageyama glared at Kawa.
" He won't be doing any warm-ups. Iwaizumi is sick. I'm taking him home. "
Kageyama spat, absolutely appalled by Kawa's behaviour as he helped Iwaizumi stand up and took him to the bathroom.
Iwaizumi's legs trembled.
" K-Kageyama... "
Iwaizumi faltered with his words. He was so exhausted and burning up badly.
" I... don't... "
Iwaizumi was stopped by more liquid rising up his throat. He jerked forward and gagged.
Kageyama helped Iwaizumi over one of the sinks.
" Sshhh, don't try speaking. You are too sick. "
Kageyama said soothingly, rubbing Iwa's back and whispering soothing and comforting words.
" I'm right here. "
Kageyama said gently, Iwaizumi heaved up more puke into the sink, sweat drops rolling down his head as he trembled.
Soon, Iwaizumi got a break. He felt only a little bit better. He didn't feel like he would vomit anymore, so that was a good sign for him. He hated the feeling.
" Kag... I want to go home. "
Kageyama nods.
" I know. I'm going to take you home now, okay? "
Kageyama said. Kageyama cleaned up Iwaizumi and helped him home, Kageyama knew where Iwaizumi lived since one day Iwaizumi needed some company.
Kageyama opened the door with the spare key, and he helped Iwaizumi inside the house.
" We are home, Iwaizumi. "
Iwaizumi let out a small groan. He was so exhausted, and he just wanted to rest now, Kageyama placed him on the couch.
" Kageyama... hold me, please. "
Iwaizumi pleaded softly. He was in such a vulnerable, weak state that he just needed someone there to hold him and take care of him.
" I'm here, Iwaizumi, I'm going to take good care of you. "
Kageyama assured as he sat on the couch and pulled Iwaizumi into his embrace, holding Iwaizumi close and taking off Iwaizumi's shirt.
" You are burning hot. I'm going to get you a damp towel. For your head. "
Kageyama went to the bathroom and wet a cloth. He went back to Iwaizumi, who was already asleep.
Kageyama placed the damp wash cloth on Iwaizumi's head and held him close, keeping Iwaizumi company and taking care of him.

SickFic Haikyuu.
Mention of Abuse.
Sick/Sad : Oikawa
Caregiver : Hinata
×
Oikawa, or the Great King known as by Hinata, is quite the misunderstood person.
Oikawa grew up being told that failure meant weakness, that failure should never be celebrated, only punished. Oikawa was punished in his home as a child if he ever failed a task.
He fell off his bike, failure, broke a glass, failure. Anything he did wrong was seen as failure, and he was punished by being refused food, being locked alone in a room with nothing.
Oikawa was even beaten by his father when he failed at what was supposedly the easiest of things.
When Oikawa met Iwaizumi in elementary school, Oikawa was happy to have a friend. However, Oikawa grew up to be very cocky because of how he was raised, his family was always bragging about their perfect life.
When Oikawa failed an assignment, he would get whipped with a belt, and if he cried, he would get beaten even more. Oikawa learnt to suppress all his emotions. He never cried.
Iwaizumi never noticed anything wrong with Oikawa. He just thought that Oikawa was a cocky rude guy. So Iwaizumi would slap Oikawa on the head whenever he did something stupid.
Oikawa had a trauma response to this because he thought that Iwaizumi was his friend, but getting slapped by Iwaizumi made him realise that he was safe nowhere.
During middle school, Oikawa became a bully because he thought that behaviour was normal. He bullied students who were younger than him.
When he met Kageyama, he was pissed because Kageyama was better than him, and Oikawa had to be the best. So Oikawa gave Kageyama the most crap. Kageyama came to hate Oikawa.
Once highschool started, Oikawa had moved out of his parents house, he couldn't handle the abuse and beatings, he kept failing assignments because of how stressed he was, and on top of that he was forced to go into Volleyball.
Oikawa was in his third year, and the captain of the team, he made everyone do everything a certain way. Nobody could make any mistakes. Especially not Oikawa.
Oikawa was a jerk for all the wrong reasons. He was just misunderstood. He wanted someone to tell him that crying was okay, that failure didn't need to be punished.
Oikawa didn't have anyone there to help him or love him.
Oikawa served the ball. It just missed and hit the line.
" Damn it! Again! "
Oikawa yelled, asking for another ball. Iwaizumi rolled his eyes and handed Oikawa another ball.
Oikawa served the ball again, this time getting it perfect.
" Yes! That's what I'm talking about! "
Oikawa celebrated. Oikawa then slapped himself in the face.
" Stupid! "
He failed a serve. He must be punished. That's what went through his mind.
Iwaizumi scoffed.
" You should get more than a slap in the face, you idiot. "
Oikawa looks at Iwaizumi and nods.
" Alright. "
Oikawa went outside and ran laps until his legs were numb.
At the end of practice, Oikawa had to walk home. He staggered his way home. On the way, though, he heard a familiar voice, one from a certain orange haired boy.
" Okay, mom! I know, I will be careful going to the store! "
Oikawa knew that it was Hinata. They had met when Aoba Josai and Karasuno had a practice match together, Oikawa thought that Hinata was such a kind soul.
" Alright, mom! Let me actually go now! "
Hinata said. Hinata turned the corner and saw Oikawa.
" Omg, it's the Great King!!! "
Hinata said, super excited but also nervous.
Oikawa gave a weak smile, waving slightly to Hinata.
" Hello there, Chibi Chan. "
Oikawa said softly. Hinata blinks.
" I didn't know you lived on this street!!! "
Hinata was his usual bubbly self, so happy and cheery.
" Yeah, I do.. I live alone. "
Oikawa mentioned. Hinata's eyes sparkled.
" Wow!! I want to, but mom says I'm not mature enough or whatever. "
Hinata says with a pout on his face.
" Hey, do you want to come over for dinner? I'm just about to go to the store to get a few things. You can join me! "
Hinata asked, his eyes sparkling with joy.
" You... want me to come over for dinner? "
Oikawa asked, to which Hinata vigorously nodded his head. Oikawa chuckles.
" How could I say no? Let's go to the store then. "
Oikawa said, a newfound energy in his body that was previously exhausted. He wanted to spend time with Hinata.
Hinata and Oikawa went to the store and got a few things that were needed for dinner. They then went back to Hinata's home, where he lived with his mom and little sister Natsu.
" Mom! I'm home, I brought a friend! "
Hinata's mom peeked around the corner.
" Oh! Welcome in, please make yourself at home! "
She said cheerfully. The whole family seemed so wonderful. Oikawa wished that he had family like that.
" Thank you, Ma'am.. "
Oikawa said graciously.
Hinata brought the groceries to the kitchen.
" Come on, Oikawa! Let's go outside and toss the volleyball around! "
Hinata said, grabbing Oikawa's hand and leading him outside. Oikawa was taken aback but followed Hinata outside.
" Thanks for inviting me over Hinata. Honestly, I haven't eaten properly in a few weeks. "
Oikawa said with a laugh. Hinata looks at Oikawa with a pout.
" Really? You should come over more often then! My mom wouldn't mind, and I love the company! "
Hinata said with cheer.
" Don't you have other friends, though? "
Oikawa asked. Hinata tilts his head.
" Oh, not really... the team is nice and all, but they sort of treat me like I'm just a dumb nobody. "
Hinata said sadly. Oikawa frowns.
" My team does similar things. "
Oikawa said, laughing nervously. Hinata's eyes widened.
" But aren't you the captain?! They should respect you! "
Hinata said with such shock.
" Yeah, I guess sometimes it doesn't matter. "
Oikawa said.
After 20 minutes of the two talking back and forth, Hinata's mom called them in for dinner.
Hinata helped set the table and helped his mom serve the food.
Oikawa graciously thanked her for the delicious food, and they all began to eat.
Once they were done, Oikawa offered to help clean up.
Oikawa grabbed one of the glasses that had water in it. He went to take it to the sink, but the glass slipped from his hand and fell onto the floor and broke.
Oikawa froze in place.
" Oh! Let me help you! "
Hinata said as he went to get the broom. He came back, and Oikawa was on the floor, picking up the pieces of glass with his bare hands.
" Oikawa! "
Hinata yelled with pure worry, and he rushed over and pulled Oikawa's hands away. Oikawa's hands were now bleeding from the glass.
" I-I didn't mean to! I'm so sorry! "
Oikawa yelled, his whole body shaking. Hinata stared at Oikawa, a realisation going through his body as he quickly pulled Oikawa into a hug.
" Hey hey, it's okay... shhh, you aren't in trouble, Oikawa. "
Hinata said soothingly. Oikawa started to cry, his body trembling as he held onto Hinata for dear life.
" Don't worry, Oikawa, I'm here for you.."
Hinata said as he continued to hold Oikawa until Oikawa was ready to let go.
Oikawa stayed there for a few minutes before he let go.
" I-I'm sorry... "
Oikawa said as his voice faltered.
" It's okay, let me clean this up, and then I'll take care of your hand, okay? "
Hinata said with a gentle smile on his face as he swept up the broken glass and put it in the trash can. Hinata then helped Oikawa stand up and took him to the bathroom.
Hinata sat Oikawa down on the toilet after putting the lid down.
Hinata grabbed a wash cloth and dampened it, Hinata cleaned the blood off of Oikawa's hands.
" Oh, Oikawa... you poor thing. Who hurt you? "
Hinata said softly as he treated the cuts on Oikawa's hands.
" Everyone..."
Oikawa muttered, tears streaming down his red cheeks.
" I-I didn't mean to.. "
Oikawa sobbed. Hinata placed his hand on Oikawa's cheek.
" It's okay, it's okay.. you aren't in trouble, you didn't do anything wrong. "
Those are the words Oikawa needed to hear. Oikawa realised that his whole life had been a complete lie. His life was filled with abusive people.
Hinata placed bandages on Oikawa's hands.
" Oikawa, do you want to move schools with me? You can't stay at Aoba Josai, and I won't let you be alone. "
Hinata said. Oikawa looks at Hinata, nodding his head.
" Y-Yes... yes, I want to move away. "
Oikawa stuttered. Hinata nods.
" Okay... we will organise to move away from here. Maybe to Tokyo? "
Hinata said sweetly while he just played with Oikawa's hair.
