I commented on this and now that I read this post again I think it's actually right.

To me in animal farm the major is actually right and the reason they have a revolution is righteous and good. But it never ends up being the socialist and communist ideals, it ends up being totalitarianism. So there's a critique of the actual historical events of how communism was turned into totalitarianism but it is agreeing with the communist ideas.

I also think that the book must be implying that the humans being in the farm is actually capitalist society so I think the op is right. It is critiquing capitalism too.

Funny because it was actually my reading comprehension that made me want to disagree with them. And I had to read it again to realise I was wrong.
